Holy fuck finally.

100%, but I bet Southpaw is just highlighting the story.

Chuck Schumer is an accelerationist (derogatory) whereas I am an accelerationist (laudatory).

This is another point in favor of electoral systems that incentivize more than two parties.

I would become an Ospreys season ticket holder in a hot second, but the team might get folded before I can ever get there.

Everybody is 12 now globally.

I don’t really know what the fuck that means. “We’ll make you abandon Palestine”?
December 11, 2025 at 3:43 PM
I’m sure everyone knows this, but it bears noting. I don’t think this is sincere cognitive dissonance from Rufo. I think it’s part of his performance. He’s preening to signal to his marks that he’s a serious, nuanced thinker rather than the tendentious, tedious hack we all know him to be.

Contrast this with Tom Nichols. He never really left the party and the party never really left him. He just figured out that in order to troll libs you need to get them to listen to you and most are no longer interested in listening to conservatives. But it’s just about trolling libs.

I strongly suspect Kristol spends more time socially and professionally with progressives and has been sincerely influenced by our perspectives.
December 11, 2025 at 11:52 AM
Party-switchers tend to say “I didn’t leave the party, the party left me.” But with guys like Kristol and Steele, they do espouse far more liberal positions than they used to and I’m not sure they’re 100% aware. It’s hard for us to track how our minds change.

“Listen, I did my best to protect my girlfriend from the professional consequences of cheating on me.”

Okay? Why would you do that and then tell people about it?
December 11, 2025 at 3:35 AM
I was really jonesing for a third deathstar, but with a cringe-ass name this time, so I can’t fathom what you mean.

From a utilitarian perspective he was about as awful as they come, but his core decency was probably more authentic than performative. But buried deep under ignorance and privilege.

Just didn’t understand the battle they were fighting and *what,* not who, they were fighting against.
December 11, 2025 at 12:09 AM
Seems like this has been the classic shithead divorced parent move since time immemorial. The child has no authentic view of their own, they are merely a pawn in a fight between the parents and they’re butthurt they “lost.”

Yes, I am the biggest killjoy in the blunt rotation when Certain Subjects are discussed. How did you guess?
December 10, 2025 at 8:02 PM
But I was reliably told that it is both absurd and morally repugnant for big government to regulate things which are “just plants, man.”

On policy I’m just gonna land on “more regulation and public control of the fruits of public investments” which I suspect just makes me a luddite in the view of tech enthusiasts.
December 10, 2025 at 7:36 PM
I’m not really sure where “technology is great and we should strive to develop and implement it in a way that serves all stakeholders instead of what the chucklefucks who run our biggest firms are trying to do” fits into this debate.

I think it’s like that Scottish nobility grift. You get a certificate saying that’s your partridge, but you have no direct interest in the tree in which it resides.
