This is a huge problem. Students get such mixed messages about genAI and little help trying to navigate it all, sometimes within a single course. I’ve seen policies that take almost a full page of the syllabus explaining why AI is bad, but concluding with “So if you choose to use AI in this course…”

By which I mean they need to be destroyed and something better built in their place
