Hierarchies are maladaptive and if you want a functional society, you replace them with lateral structures. The present and the future belongs to networks that maximize relationship quality, not quantity. And yes quality is that which maximizes the probability of group functional outcomes.

There is no private market solution to unaffordable housing. Newsom and all the other private market YIMBYS are wrong about the math and financial theory. The theory is clear; even if US housing supply elasticity doubled to match countries like Japan and Denmark, prices will fall by less than 10%.

Almost as if our institutional structure isn't fit for purpose in the modern world. We desperately need institutional reforms that separates the Department of Justice from the Executive, and bans all forms of political interference with the administrative state.

Our schools must be fully funded by the Federal Government. The Conservative assault on American public education should be a constant political hammer used by Democrats.

There is no functional democracy where the Justice Department and the administrative state are not independent from the Executive and protected from political interference and free to make decisions grounded in knowledge and science.
