I asked a tall person who was passing by to grab a bottle of molasses for me from the top shelf of the store after I reconsidered my idea to use a bottle of pancake syrup as a scooting implement. I can’t even imagine the mess if that had gone wrong!

If they’re not going to sit their starters when they’re up 40, it’s very likely someone will get hurt unnecessarily and the streak will finally end, albeit for a very preventable reason.

When I was a kid (fun, I know), I would get those interactions over with as quickly as possible. Don’t say a single thing to prolong them, don’t argue back if you know you can’t change anything, and then remind yourself afterwards that it’s the other person who has problems and that you are awesome.
