Don't say that, there are more things we don't know than things we do. So we are all ignorant in one area or another. Or in my case, many 🤣
Depending where you live in Australia you'll have one or multiple species of flying foxes.

In Queensland we have more than 30 species of microbats, compare that with 3 species of flying foxes. It is just that they are tiny and only come out at night, so the likelihood of seeing one by chance is very small. But if you look for them, you'll see them.

We do have microbats, I live in Queensland and I specialise in rescuing microbats. If you live in an old Queenslander, you very likely have micros in your roof.

Windows mostly but a door opening at the right time can also be a way in, mostly if there are outdoor lights nearby attracting insects.
Also bats can live in little used attics, or roof cavities, they can squeeze through tiny gaps. They will help keep your house free of insects.

But they do. They live in little crevices in our houses. In the ceiling cavity. In our sheds. They are everywhere and we should embrace that.
Putting up bat boxes can help too. But do not evic them.

The clearest reasons to not go to war, but every person I know in Venezuela is so desperate for a change that they will welcome it with open arms... and I'm heartbroken because I do not see how this will make things work there

Looks crinkled because is resting. When the membrane expands (when flying) it looks as taut as a drum

And also doesn't have the Hollywood ending but instead an ending that match the story of the film. Good on whoever put their foot down when the film execs started fretting because the end was not uplifting enough

And baby bat season already started!!

Hi @littlewingbathaven.bsky.social what is your success rate with Vespertilionidae pups? My success rate with pinky ones (no fur) is very low. I'm looking for advice on how to improve this.

After watching the 1982 version as an 11 year old, I would not let my dog out of my sight for weeks. It was that scary.

A horror story, involving an out of ideas top film executive and overpriced fad dolls, probably destined to win a razzie or two
