Yes! You can spend at least 5 minutes talking about THAT Nike-advert. It really encapsulates the mood in Liverpool at that time

I’m not going to entertain any nostalgia, the final few years of the old group stages was horrendous. Final season had barely any games with anything riding on them on the final day. There is much to dislike about modern football, but the new format is better than the old imo

Liverpool have lost to Galatasaray twice in the old format, and neither times was it important.

Best account on the internett right now. Sole reason to stay on twitter.

It’s not superiority complex to want the local team to keep playing in their local area. It’s logical.

There is zero value for anyone who loves the game to stage a league game in another country, the only people who wants it are power brokers, and middle managers. They add zero value to the game

Does the bloody name of the teams give any indication as to where the teams belongs and plays their games?

Geography matters a lot, off course it does

I wish someone had said this to me when my father passed away. To be yourself in grief, and not feel like you have to be a certain way.

Not to cause a massive controversy, but those questions were not at a similar difficulty-level.

Pedro isn’t all that. He is below Cunha imo.

Surely the numbers on a bunch if the PSG attackers are on steroids because they play for an insanely attacking team who’s also a lot better and richer than the rest if the league combined? I’m pretty sure Goncalo Ramos isn’t getting anything near what he’s doing for PSG in any Premier League club.

Lovely piece. It could also be written about Pep's Barcelona, who everyone wanted to praise for their press. It was good off course, but it wasn't the defining characteristic. Sometimes one aspect of a team (or player) get's too much coverage because everyone wants to be a connoisseur

Nothing else, just Spurs, Ange, and s relentless mockery of Man Utd

The sheer number of icons and profiles nicely spread out throughout the continent is probably not coming back. As a result the pool of elite players feel smaller these days. It’s probably just that they are collected on a smaller number of teams, which means they can’t all shine

Awesome work. Your post are for me the most interesting on football social media, and a real eye-opener in terms of how we view historical players. 02/03 might be my favorite ever season btw. Even thou my team (Liverpool) didn’t do anything. The stardust on everything else is magnificent

@pras-fpl.bsky.social and the @the-fplwire.bsky.social every week, @aboveaveragefpl.bsky.social most weeks, the fpl pod on occasion, and some sprinkling of other creators once in a while

I really, really want one. Mainly because I am above average in fpl, but below average everywhere else. What can I do?

These records will be broken now though, because they all get 2 extra (or in some cases 4 extra) games.

Awesome season for the Leeds-reject, but I expect more players to follow with this kind of numbers in the coming seasons.

I don’t know what Osimhen would have been doing if he was still at Napoli, but I think this title-race would have been less tight if Conte was able to look past his love for Lukaku, and instead settled for Osimhen.

Good article, really liked how you included the 2 offside-goals in your analysis. The fact that they were a few centimeters off, does not invalidate the entire phases of play beforehand, and the value of that phase of play in analysis.

Honour the man who made you go with Glasner. All hail lateriser. His passion for Glasner turned many in to centurions this GW I think.
February 23, 2025 at 6:54 PM
I expect zophar and pras to give lateriser a lot of love in the next pod. No way they would both been on Glasner if lateriser hadn’t advocated so strongly. Listening in retrospect makes lateriser seem like a true prophet

I can’t speak for all? But I just found you. Hadn’t noticed you made the trip over, and didn’t look on twitter to find out.

Enjoyed the thread, but it’s a bit harder to read on bluesky for now.
