The courtroom receded, and then vanished altogether, as the portal spat them out in a heap on the Hotel lobby floor. She heard Vaggie immediately scramble to her feet and storm towards the portal as it snapped shut mockingly.
"—FUCKER!! ¡Despiadado hijo de puta APESTOSO!! ¡BASTARDO!!!"
She did not follow suit.
She did not trust her trembling limbs to hold her weight right now. So on her hands and knees she stayed, cowering from her failure, a failure bigger than all the other fuckups and mistakes she'd made before. Cowering from the sound of the angel raging into thin air a few feet away from her.
'..Adam, I hope you CHOKE on your spare ribs! ¡Jodio cerdo CABRÓN!! AARGH!"
Cowering from it all.
Vaggie was an Exorcist, just like them, and the Extermination was still coming in a month's time, and her friends were almost definitely going to double-die. The fact of that more than ate away at her. It devoured her. It felt like even the hotel building itself was condemning her for failing to protect it.
Even though that's what she'd been trying to do. Even though not all of it was her fault.
Because Vaggie hadn't told her she was an angel.

"Charlie, whatever you do..."
And she remembered someone clutching her arms, the voice of an angel beseeching her, pleading, louder than all of the other warnings and omens and memories that came before:
... do NOT make a deal with him!"
That made up her mind for her. Charlie stepped out of handshake range. "No."
Alastor's smile was unwavering, but his ear twitched, and there was a spike in the static that accompanied him wherever he went. "I'm sorry? I must have misheard"
"No." Charlie repeated, doing her best to sound authoritative, like a Princess of Hell should... like her mother would've wanted. (Like Vaggie would've wanted.) "I don't want your deal."
He smiled wider, and laughed - but it was a tight laugh, just like the way he laughed when the subject of television came up in conversation. "Why, Charlie, you must be feeling better if you have time for jokes!"
His microphone burst into life. "I say, the dame must still be dizzy from her heavenly misadventure-!"
"Shut UP!" Charlie clenched her fist, and the canned laughter cut off with a screech. "I'm not kidding! I mean it! No!"
Alastor blinked. He clutched his staff to his chest, and stroked the top of the microphone as if comforting a frightened pet. "That was rude."

"Yes, I believe that every demon has good inside of them, and can choose to change for the better, but I know that out there, there are souls who have done - choose to do - cruel, mean, horribly fucked-up things!" She thought of Valentino, briefly, and the way he'd dragged Angel Dust out of his dressing room so roughly and made her friend look so frightened, so cowed. But Alastor was the one here in front of her right now, the guy who'd professed to finding suicides and orphans amusing, who had felled overlords just for the fun of it, whose broadcasts were filled with screams of pain and terror. "Sinners like you. I know your reputation, I was warned about you!"
"Ah, but by who, dear?" he asked, piercingly. "Those newsreel narrators on the picture box?
Your impotent, absentee father?"
"Don't insult my-" Charlie tried to interject, but she'd lost her momentum. Alastor steamrolled on.
"Or was it your sweetheart, who - what was it? - concealed her heavenly identity from you for as long as she could manage?" He started stalking towards her, backing her down. "What makes you think you can trust them any more than me? What makes you think they could give you what I am offering to support your kitschy aspirations?
"And how badly do you really want to save these sinners from their demise, if you're turning down the only way in which you can?"
Charlie flinched. She didn't have a comeback for that; his words had hit home. What if he was right?
For just a moment, pinwheeling tuning dials flashed in Alastor's eyes. "I am being generous with you, Charlie. A favour, in exchange for what I know."

Pentagram City was years removed from its former... well, no, not glory, hardly. It had never been a glorious place, perish the thought! But it had had a certain je ne sais quoi. A melting pot of all of the worst worsts of humanity and demonkind, it had been; and yet in it's heyday you could still pan through those wretched deposits and find the thrills and delights and the most enduring remnants of the indomitable human spirit - the culture. The cuisine. The desire to create.
The desire to carve out a name for oneself.
The desire to destroy. The conflict and drama and bloodshed to partake in, or to sit back and watch.
The entertainment.
Some had compared this place favourably to New York, or Los Angeles, or Bangkok, or any of the number of sin cities scattered around the planet Earth. Personally, he'd preferred to compare it to New Orleans.
It truly had been like his birthplace, his old home, in the ways he fondly remembered.
But it wasn't like that anymore.
The sprawling metropolis in the crater that had been formed when the Morningstar fell, all those millennia ago, had been cratered again and again. Huge chasms and cracks and sinkholes that clearly were not the result of territorial battles (or pathetic copycat overlords with unearned access to a holy light cannon) jostled and ripped apart the urban fabric and took bites from its flesh.
A sloppy, unfinished butchers' job.

$Charlie screamed for them not to do this, but it was too late. The last smile her father had given her was as he turned his back on this nuclear bomb, and with one last burst of his former power no longer directed to his self-preservation, shoved her. Giving her the momentum to make it back to her home realm. She'd seen it as he'd been swallowed up by the blast. Along with her mother. What was left of aunts and her uncles. The high Seraphim. They were gone in an instant. She'd screamed as she plummeted, hairline fractures and tears in the fabric of space racing with her. She'd seen Vaggi diving from Heaven, screaming, reaching out to try and catch her. She'd made it within a few feet of Charlie before the cracks in reality separated them. The last she'd seen of Vaggi was her distorted image being pulled back, pulled away, by someone else with wings. That was the last she'd seen of the love of her life. Her whole world... her family... gone. Except for Alastor, sitting on her bed next to her, and Keekee in her lap... she'd lost everything. She'd lost.$

When it happened, it was so close to home. So close to the Hotel.
They were just about at the gates, returning from a shopping trip (Charlie had cried over a bottle of bleach because it reminded her of Niffty, and then cried over the liquor section of the market they frequented because it reminded her of Husk)... when there was the crack of a bullet burying itself into the wall just behind Charlie's head.
And then, half a second later, the crack of a gun firing from some distance away.
Charlie jolted, but sluggishly. If the bullet had been a few more inches to the left, it would have gone right through her head.
And, as Alastor fought down the memory of being shot in the bayou that unfortunate day in 1933, to analyse the situation.. he saw the bullet embedded in the wall was glowing a gold so bright it was almost white.
An holy bullet.
An angelic gun.
Carmilla Carmine was gone, but her weapons lived on.
That could have killed him.
That could've killed Charlie. Angelic steel had taken down powerful Goetia, had weakened Lucifer when he was trapped in Vox's cannon to the point of collapse and mild haemorrhaging. No doubt in his mind that it could have killed her.
And Alastor felt rage.

"I missed you," grumbled Abel, tugging St. Peter out of his robe the moment he stepped into the bedroom. He pulled him into a big bear hug. "C'mere. Haven't seen you all day."
Abel was shorter than Peter, but his soft, stout exterior belied his strength; he could lift him right off the ground when he hugged him. Like he was doing now. He gave very tight, warm, clingy hugs.
Which Peter always appreciated, very much. He was all for spreading and sharing the love!
But when they were both naked, like they were now, there was something more special about it. Something more intimate, more sacred; holy. Yes, their love was sacred to him in a way that the platonic love he held for Emily, for every other angel and Winner in Heaven, could ever be.
The skin-to-skin contact, his sweat beading onto the fuzzy hair on Abel's stomach - he revered it all.
It was an unspoken signal that they were both in the mood.
And St. Peter received the message loud and clear.
"Oh, I missed you too, woollybear," he cooed, resting his head atop Abel's. "I had to sing so many songs today!"
"Uh-huh?" Abel looked up at him, adoringly.
"AND play in the Sera-ymphony on top of that!" He feigned swooning, and Abel had to stumble to one side to keep his balance. "Phew! Let me tell you, Abe-babe, I am wiped out!"
"Awww! I guess I'll have to take care of you then," Abel pulled him in closer to press a kiss against his lips. "My hard-working boyfriend."
Peter giggled, and turned his head so Abel could kiss him properly again. He pulled away for just a moment to admire Abel; his messy hair and crooked halo, his plump body, the dale of blonde scruff in his sternum and the flush of arousal on his cheeks.
But Abel had other ideas.
"No, no, we're staying like this. We're staying close." He yanked Peter close again, spinning him around (being careful with his wings), and overbalanced backwards. Laughing, they tumbled onto the bed, sinking into the silken sheets and plush mattress.

The four hands working the knots and aches in her back are pure bliss, and Cherri Bomb melts into the bedsheets. "Fuckkkk, Molls, that's the spot."
"Cherry pip, whatcha keep on doin' to get all this tightness here?" Molly scolds fondly. Cherri only moans happily, as an audible crack marks another ligament being loosened. "It ain't good for your figure ta keep stressing it so."
"Okay-aargh-I know how brill' your cooking is, babe." Cherri twists around (as best she can) to glare pointedly at her girlfriend. "If I wasn't keeping active, I'd balloon. This bod," she gestures at her lithe frame, "is high maintenance."
"I'll say."
Cherri sticks out her tongue, and plants her face back into the pillow. Molly resumes the massage.
"Worth it, though, don't'cha think?" Cherri opines coyly after a moment. She wiggles, coaxing the towel wrapped around her waist - the only thing she's wearing - lower to reveal the tramp stamp she just got the other day: a speckle of bombs framed within a spider's web. Something sweet for Molly to look at in the sack; at least in certain positions.
Her girlfriend is silent.
Cherri waits two seconds, then four, then six. Still no response. "Babe?" she asks tentatively.
"What was it tonight?" Molly's voice, when it comes, is flat; almost cold.
"Ey?"
"What got your back this bad tonight?"
"Oi, woah!" Cherri forces a chuckle, trying to defuse her own apprehension. "Where did the interrogation come from?"
Molly huffs. "Can't I be concerned about my gal?"

There are times when Blitzø remembers.
He has a lot to remember. And when he remembers he can get lost in it, very easily.
So there are times when Blitzø could swear he has become Blitzo-with-the-O again.
A part of him has always and will always still be the young child shrinking from a self-serving hack of a father who dangled conditional love in front of him only to yank it away at the last second. An imp who never cared; who coerced his son into stealing from a new playmate only to make off alone with the ill-gotten gains which were supposed to "help Mom". Make off, spend it all on booze, and leave the circus to slowly crumble and Tilla to wither, wither away.
A part of him will always be the teenager helplessly watching his mother expire. A part of him is always burning, scorching, scarring. A part of him is still recoiling from his sister's punches; watching his best friend lie limp and limbless in a hospital bed as his dad shoves him out the ward.
A part of him, inside his mind, always echoes with voices.
"You're not my dad!"
"YOU RUINED MY LIFE!!"
"..reckless, heartbreaking FREAK!"
"Don't act like this is anything other than you wanting to fuck me..."
"Are you worried I may have enough of it someday as well?
"You're going to die alone!"
In these moments Blitzø (or is it Blitzo?) is almost sure he's going to be abandoned again.

It had taken a while to set up. It had taken a whole bottle of chocolate sauce, a can of whipped cream, a bowlful of berries, and a tablecloth; all carefully smuggled one-at-a-time to their suite over the last few days. It had taken a believable enough excuse to skip dessert and games night for this, and a lot of careful watching in the mirror as she'd drizzled chilly, sticky syrup over her skin.
But, por Dios, Vaggie knew it was going to be worth it.
She lay supine on their bed, knees up, with both hands behind her head and her hair all fanned out. Her naked body was lavishly decorated: in swirls of whipped cream topped with berries; in drooling lines and trails drawn in chocolate. Hearts framed her nipples, syrupy stripes down her stomach and up her thighs marked the way to her muff.
Vaggie knew her princesa well. Her Charlie had such a sweet tooth there was no way in Hell she'd be be able to resist this. And she could only imagine what her girlfriend would do to her, with this spread of confectionery plated upon her. The thought of Charlie's lips; tongue; teeth roaming over her, savouring every inch of her garnished body... it was already giving Vaggie the thrills. She had to tamp down on the urge to finger herself and sate that itch between her legs.
But the waiting was gnawing at her. Vaggie couldn't help but worry about the chocolate running and messing up the meticulously planned, shakily drawn designs shed embellished herself with. Already some berries had slipped and fallen out of place, and the cream swirls were starting to wilt into misshapen blobs. Too much longer and she feared her presentation would be spoiled.
How long had she been posing like this for? Games night must be wrapping up by now.
And... yes, finally Vaggie could hear footsteps approaching down the hallway outside. She knew those footsteps even muffled through the wall; even blind in the dark.
The doorknob rattled and the door to their suite creaked open.

one "I'm fine," Moxxie murmured, when Millie asked if he was okay and why hadn't he eaten any of the cake celebrating their successful mission. He clutched his party hat in his claws so tight
that it ripped. All he could see was the mushroom cloud wafting up from what had once been a family home; smoke scattering like light in rippling water. He could see the beheaded teddy bear that landed at his feet. The imp with their horns cut off, a sack over their head, sobbing and begging before
he pushed the concrete weight over the side of the rowboat.
His mother's shoes, floating in that subterranean lake.
"Don't be a puss. We're just killing a mother. We're ruining a family!"
Moxxie thought, as he had back then, that he'd been the one to kill her.

Stolas raged against the courtroom wards. Loona thrashed in her chains, her anguished howl muffled by the muzzle that had been forced upon her. Millie shook with sobs, her tears trickling down Moxxie's horns, wetting his hair.
And Moxxie wailed into her chest.
he could still hear the *swish—thunk* of the axe.
When he could stomach lifting his head and looking, Satan and the majority of the court were still unmoved by Stolas's display; a mass of swirling black and red, screaming desperate eldritch screams as he threw himself against the wall of magic conjured up by the stony-faced Lord of Wrath. That blue bitch of a marquis was preening at the sight. Asmodeus and Beelzebub wore guilty winces (at least they had the decency to). The macaw Goetia who had challenged Andrealphus looked devastated.
And Blitzø was slumped against the chopping block. A trail of coagulating blood splatters led across the floor of the dock, to...
horns pruned at the tips
mouth gone slack
eyes rolled back
visible vertebrae cleaved in two
...to his decapitated head.
Moxxie threw up, and sobbed even harder.

"You're cold."
Vaggie hums, blinks - well, technically, a wink - to clear her sleepy vision, and focuses her gaze back on Charlie, sprawled on top of her. "Mmm?"
"I mean - I know I've said it lots," her girlfriend continues in a somnolent murmur, laying her head on Vaggie's shoulder, "but to me, you feel cold. In a nice way," she adds hurriedly. "Like... swimming on the hottest day... or ice cream without brain freeze."
Vaggie chuckles fondly. "If you didn't eat it so fast, hon, you wouldn't get brain freeze so often."
"It's not that! It's Hell ice cream - it's supposed to do that!" Charlie pouts dramatically. Vaggie boops her scrunched-up nose with a finger, and they both dissolve into giggles, and the bed creaks beneath them as they squirm.
They subside into comfortable silence. It's been a long day. A sudden cold snap hitting Pentagram City made sure they got plenty of work done on renovating this old Morningstar building for Charlie's rehab-redemption project, and now they're trying to get some rest despite the blizzard battering the windows. But Charlie's mind tends to race, and you know what?
Vaggie doesn't mind pillow talk one bit.
She idly runs her fingers through Charle's blonde hair, and it flows between them like liquid gold.
"To me," she says at length, bringing a hand up to cup Charlie's rosy cheek. She flutters at the touch, but leans into it nonetheless. "To me you're so warm." She pauses, searching for a comparison. It's been so many years since she's had it. "Like sopa de res, made just right."
"What's so - sopa de res made of? It's a soup, right?"
"That's right." Vaggie smiles. Charlie was picking up on Spanish, bit by bit in between her other hyperfixations, and Vaggie was very proud of her for that. "A Salvadoran beef soup - well, almost a stew. Lots of vegetables. Yuca leaves and corn ears too - I think." She'd never made it herself. She's found Latin American restaurants scattered across Pentagram City, but the owners mustn't be Salvadoran, or …

The guitar chords emanating from somewhere in their apartment brought her out of her slumber. They were familiar, but her groggy mind couldn't name the song.
Verosika wiped the sleep out of her eyes, scrubbed fingers through her bed-head hair, and got up. She chucked on a baggy t-shirt, one that went down to her upper thighs (ironically, about as far as her stage dresses usually went too) and traipsed out of the bedroom.
The strumming continued as she padded down the hall. It was joined by whistling - a familiar tune; she was sure she knew it, but her rebooting brain just couldn't place it.
Verosika paused at the entrance to the lounge; and there, sitting on the floor in nothing but his pyjama pants, eyes closed and guitar in hand, was Wally.
"She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean..."
AC/DC. She loved AC/DC. When she was a teen and Bon Scott had just arrived in Hell, Verosika had hitchhiked up to Pride to watch him perform in a bar, and it had been totally worth the grounding from her mother afterwards. The man had had such stage presence, an intoxicating laid-back confidence, and the music he sung was raunchy, raw, authentic. She'd known right then and there that she wanted to do That™, to rock the stage and rock an audience.
Fame had trapped her on a treadmill of marketable, masturbateable pop, but Verosika had never given up that little spark of rock 'n' roll; she'd kept it safe inside, until she found the right demon to share it with. Which she had. Wally loved all sorts of music; circus tunes and commercial jingles for the most part, but he liked rock too. He had thrown himself into listening to every song she recommended; he had even learned the guitar so he could strum along with her as she warmed up or wrote new songs.
But she hadn't thought that his voice; his silly, squawky, earnest voice, would sound so fitting to acoustic rock covers.

Summary:
Loona patches up Blitzø after he gets injured on a mission.

Blitzø - her boss, her guardian, her... *sigh* ...adoptive father - is a fucking idiot. She's known that for a long time; as long as she's been around him.
But there's a difference between being a clingy, overbearing, immature dumbass in general, and trying to hide a gaping stomach wound. He might have convinced the fatty and Millie with his strained smile and wisecracks, but there's no way Loona could miss the scent of Blitzø's blood, or the way he limps across the parking lot and slumps against the side of the van. She leaps out of the front with an urgency that almost surprises herself, first aid kit snatched from under the seat.
"You are not driving like that," she growls, ripping his buttoned-up coat off.
"Careful of the threads, Looney..." Blitzø mumbles deliriously, groaning in pain as the coat slips off his shoulders. His undershirt is sliced up, revealing a decent gash across his midsection.
Glossy black blood begins to flow freely, with the compression of his coat gone. The wounds don't look too deep or life-threatening, but clearly were in just the right place to nick more than a few blood vessels.
"It was ruined when you bought it." Loona pumps hand sanitizer on her paws then presses a clean-ish rag to Blitzø's torso before he can take offence. He yelps.
"The fuck did you get yourself into?" she asks. "Client said this should be an easy hit."
...yeah...thought so too." Blitzø grits his teeth, shuts his eyes, and hisses as she keeps the pressure on his wounds. Loona doesn't say anything, focused on the immediate task of stopping the bleeding.
When it's clear that he's not going to answer her, she growls and presses down just a little harder than might be necessary. "How did you let a basement-dwelling neckbeard get the jump on you?"
..he was really good with a katana." Blitzø groans. "

Loona comes out to her adoptive father.
"Just so you know," Loona ventured to mumble in the middle of breakfast, on her second day living with the imp who adopted her. "
... I'm trans."
"Yuh-huh," hummed Blitzø through a mouthful of gross spray cheese and stale cereal. He didn't sound super interested, but he didn't sound dismissive either, and that somehow made the knot in her throat go away a little. He swallowed. "You on E?"
"N-no." Loona wanted to scoff, but instead she stuttered. She wanted to hide her face in her bacon and eggs. "
...The shelter would never've paid for it."
"Not to worry Loonie," the imp beamed and reached out to pat the top of her paw comfortably, apparently forgetting that had led to the tooth marks in his knuckles yesterday. "The pharmacy I go to is good, they'll be able to suss out what you need and you won't have to sell a kidney to get it."
Loona looked, and saw a patch on his left horn where one of the white stripes was thinner, faded, worn off. She could smell paint. And through the armhole of the singlet he wore she thought she caught a glimpse of..a binder.
She relaxed. She let him rest his hand atop of her paw for a few seconds before she gently pushed it off.
"Thanks. Blitz."

Chapter 6: it was spiders

The probably-a-robot glowered at them, mostly because its eyes were shaped that way. "You tried to kill a kid ," it accused.
Affixed to the wall by some Terminator liquid-metal shit, Blitzø rolled his eyes. "Key word: tried. Target's still alive -" his eyes flicked over to the scruffy-haired spandex-wearer "- so no big whoop. For you at least, 'cause we don't get fuckin' paid for getting caught."
Red tin-can man jabbed a finger. "After this question time's done, you're getting soap in your mouth - "
"Bold of you to assume that's not one of my kinks."
"There is a MINOR present - "
"Mr Stark!" The kid spoke up - he really was a kid, had his voice even broken yet? Had he even hit puberty -
"It's cool, okay, I appreciate you looking out for me - but it's not like I haven't heard or seen that kinda talk before..."
"Okay, kid, we're gonna discuss that later."
"I'm seventeen!"
Blitzø cackled. "Really, squeaker? Cause ya don't sound it. Have your balls even dropped?" The spandex infant flushed - he'd hit a sore spot.
"There are many things wrong with what you just said," Mr Stark growled, pinching its forehead in a very un-robot-like way, "but we are digressing from the point that YOU, Things 1, 2, & 3, almost killed a teenager!
Intentionally!"

Chapter 7: doing stuff
Summary:
Everyone's pondering why Angel Dust and Husk are late to breakfast.
Two seats were empty at the dining table that morning.
"Where's Angel?" Vaggie huffed. "I know he likes to be fashionably late in the mornings, but this is ridiculous!"
"He's not a morning person, why are ya forcing him to be one?" Cherri snarked, mouth full.
"Discipline, my dear, is essential to self-betterment," Alastor lectured, pinching Cherri's lips shut. "I wish I could cite Husker as an example of that, but, alas, he seems to have lapsed today too. It just goes to show the futility of this endeavour-"
"Gee, the spider and the bartender, making eyes at each other for weeks, and now absent at morning roll call." Lucifer said dryly from behind a stack of freshly baked pancakes. "Wonder why that could be."
Charlie, who had been downcast just a moment ago at Alastor's disparagement and the absence of two of her friends, dropped her cutlery with a clatter and squealed. "Omigosh. OMIGOSH!!" She leaped up onto her chair and nearly knocked over her plate - and Vaggie's too. "DAD DO YOU THINK THEY'RE-?"
"Please." Alastor's smile was strained. "Do not entertain the idea of Husker engaging carnally with our resident harlot-"
"No no, Charlie, please, keep going." Lucifer had a truly wicked grin on his face. "Take it from me, I think it's more than likely that they're biz-zay up there."
Alastor's eye - the one with the monocle - twitched.

"Look at you both," Chaz beamed, his newly grown-in set of teeth twinkling in the bedroom chandelier light. "I can't believe how big you're both getting!"
"Neither can ah," Millie rolled her eyes and sighed as deeply as she could (which wasn't much, given how the growing pair of little demons inside her were squishing her lungs) but still she smiled as she rested a hand atop her very round middle. She felt as huge as she looked; but at times like these, resting amidst a nest of blankets with her loves at her side and their hands cradling her belly and their children within, the aches and pains and gripes of carrying twins seemed a lot less.
Moxxie pouted. "Hey! I'm not that big yet." He frowned, touched a hand to his own just-emerging baby bump where it pushed out against his shirt; he'd been so proud of that first outward sign that he was with child. "Am I?"
"Give it a few months, babe," Millie patted his belly soothingly, then hissed as a well-aimed kick from within her jolted her ribcage.
Chaz giggled. "Ohhhh man, that's gonna be a sight for sore eyes."
"Yes, I'm gonna be big," Moxxie groused in a most put-upon manner. "I'm gonna waddle, I won't be able to see my feet, har har har."
"Are you saying ah waddle, Moxx?"
"I - um." Moxxie flushed,
"Cause you're right. Ah do waddle." Millie grunted, shifting to get comfortable. Moxxie and Chaz both instinctively went to grab and reposition cushions - Chaz quickly, Moxxie just a bit cumbersomely. "Can't wait till ah don't."
"What is it, only a few weeks to go now?" Chaz soothed. "It'll be over in no time!"
A humph and a glare. "Easy for you to say when ya don't need ta piss every half-hour."
"Nice to know I have that to look forward to," Moxxie fussed, one hand going to his bump self-consciously. "Now, shall we get back to having a big laugh about my forthcoming third trimester?" He huffed and folded his arms, more melodramatic than usual. "No, no, I don't mind, we can make a little jest about how I'm going to be-"

“Long day, Vaggie?” Charlie cooed, tenderly stroking Vaggie’s head.

Vaggie made a muffled noise of assent somewhere in between her girlfriend’s breasts, and Charlie giggled; partly cause it tickled and partly cause it was so very cute. Vaggie was always so very cute, so adorable; but in the sanctuary of each other’s company – and only each other’s company – when she allowed herself to let her guard down fully, she was even cuter, even more adorable.

Her girlfriend looked up with a simply precious pout, messy strands of hair curtaining her face. “You laugh,” she huffed, “but you didn’t have to deal with the dinner rush today, hon.” And she buried her head back in Charlie’s chest again.

“Oh no, what happened?” Charlie had missed dinner at the hotel tonight; after the usual busy morning of counselling sessions and various group activities, she’d had to go out on a business meeting in Gluttony on behalf of her father. Her aunt Beelzebub was always good company, and they might have had a little bit too much to catch up on in between hashing out a new inter-ring trade deal. Charlie had ended up staying for a ‘light’ dinner with the Queen Bee and her boyfriend; and by the time she’d arrived back at the hotel the revelry of the evening was winding down, courtesy of a typically cavalier Alastor, a typically indefatigable Niffty, and a simmering-more-than-usual Vaggie.

So here she was, in bed with her wife, finding out what she had missed.

“Baxter and Pentious turned their noses up at the ceviche,” came the muffled, put-upon reply. “Someone, I don’t know who, ordered a Hawaiian pizza just to prank Angel. Then…” Vaggie groaned, and burrowed her face deeper into Charlie’s cleavage. “Then there was a food fight.”

Angel and Molly quirked identical, quizzical eyebrows at his outburst. Cherri tried to stifle her cackling behind her hand, and failed. Arackniss smacked his palm into his forehead and growled something Italian under his breath.
Husk gave the snake the most withering, attack-eyebrowed glare he could muster at ten in the morning. He had a hangover, as usual, and his ears and brain were throbbing. "Oh, fuck, what is it now?"
Pent clapped one hand over his eyes and pointed approximately in Cherri's direction with the other. "WHY isss ssshe NAKED?"
Cherri was not, in fact, naked. She was wearing a swimsuit, which is what you wear when you're at the beach. And they were at a beach, the six of them, and they were all wearing swimsuits: Pent in a goofy-ass vintage bathing costume, 'Niss and Husk in trunks, Angel in a flattering high-cut one-piece, and Cherri and Molly in bikinis.
There was nothing really that scandalous about Cherri's scarlet halter-top-&-tie-side ensemble, nor Molly's turquoise bandeau top and boy-shorts bottoms.

"What's the matter, old man?" Cherri teased, cocking a hip and fluttering her eyelash innocently. "C'mon, you can say you like what you see, don't be shy..."

What if Blitzø and Angel shared an apartment at one point?

They're both late risers.
Which suits the both of them just fine. Blitzø is the boss of his own fledgling company, he can get up and show up to work whenever he damn well pleases. Angel is a creature of the night, whose working hours can run late into the earliest hours of the dawn, at the unpredictable whims of his rat bastard pimp.
So it coincides quite nicely that they both wake up well after the pentagram sun has risen over Pride's scorched urban horizon and lit up the inside of their shared apartment.
Whoever gets out of bed first (usually it's Blitzø) makes the other coffee. Angel prefers an espresso, with just enough sugar to properly offend a born-and-bred Italian mafioso. Blitzø will go for anything that's iced, but he does have a taste for something a bit nutty with caramel drizzled on top. They've come to know how they each take their coffee very well over the months they've shared their apartment together - so much so that the imp sometimes finds himself instinctively making an espresso for himself instead of an instant mocha (in which case he'll shrug, dump a few heapings more sugar and some ice cubes into the cup, and drink it anyway.)
It's Blitzø who cooks breakfast for the both of them; usually a simple, greasy fry up like eggs and bacon. He cleans his plate, Angel rarely does. Usually the sinner takes a few bites, and then either throws the rest in a plastic container "for later" or lets his pet pig lick the plate clean - a pet pig. Named Fat Nuggets, of all things, when he's clearly a 'Maple Syrup' or a
'Fencepost'.
Other times Angel doesn't eat at all. The one time Blitzø did press the question led to a fight, and a few days of bitter fuming, and then hesitant half-apologies. He doesn't raise the issue anymore, but he does wonder and he does let himself worry a bit, and the spider now posts Sinstagram pics of him with a smoothie on those days, as if to reassure or to make a point.
Regardless, breakfast happens in some way or another, and they chat…

The limo pulled up to the curbside with a flamboyant screech of tires. Charlie practically - no, literally - leapt out the door before the vehicle had even stopped; Vaggie was the one who had to remember to grab their beach bags as she disembarked. Rolling her eyes fondly, she rapped her fist on the driver's side window, the all-clear for Razzle and Dazzle to pull away and find a parking space before discreetly shadowing the Princess of Hell and her girlfriend as their security detail.
Charlie had already made it to the far side of the boardwalk, bouncing from foot to foot with excitement. Her long blonde hair was untied, and backlit in the morning light it flowed and glowed like fire, licking at her marble-white skin, licking at her black crop top and crimson shorts but never singeing or scorching any aspect of her.
Oh, her girlfriend was so beautiful, so mesmerizing to behold. Vaggie couldn't help but smile a besmitten smile as she followed her closer to the railing.
"Look at it, Vaggie, look at it!" Charlie squealed, pointing at the silhouetted skyline before them.
The Los Maltido waterfront. Two hours drive from Pentagram City, a chaotic colony of boardwalks and amusement parks, hotels and casinos, restaurants and bars and brothels bordered the sandy shores of the Greater Stygian Lake. A wretched hive of scum and villainy it was, sure - just like the rest of Pride - but this wretched hive had a beach, and better food, and better things to do than dodge turf wars and get catcalled.
They'd picked today, an off-season day, to get away from the noise and hustle of the Pentagram, away from the hassle of setting up the groundwork for Charlie's dream project, away from the disapproving silence of Charlie's parents. They both agreed they needed a break, and Vaggie was also hoping for a chance to get some much-needed alone time. Aside from sharing a bedroom they hadn't gone on a proper date in weeks - too many weeks.
