I haven’t minded being single, but lately I’ve been thinking it would be nice to meet someone.

I took four years off dating, and that was good for me then.

It’s a documented nationwide phenomenon. This is how young and middle aged men approach apps.

When apps were new, they were closer to balanced, but over time the horrors of online dating have driven the ratio of men to women higher and higher.

Now, men try to counter the ratio by liking everyone.

Apps could’ve really broadened our horizons, but instead men put mate selection pressure right back at women’s feet. 😮‍💨

You’d be incorrect, sir. Experiment already completed circa 2016 when all my besties and I were on all the apps. Not every single one of us is good looking; I’m an average gal myself!

These men out here in my generation right swipe everyone to “play the odds.”

(Clarification: I mean men whose name I already know and know something about… like from volunteering or group classes at the gym or something. Leave women alone in settings where we’re on our own like the store or whatever.)

(My girlfriends and I used to chat about this. It happens to all women on dating apps, so this is not a brag post. 😆)

I’d forgotten how when I downloaded Bumble in this area I was initially inundated with thousands of likes. 😮‍💨

I cannot even. Bumble sorts them neatly by distance, profile newness, etc. so I can group them and left swipe my way through neat little stacks of profiles one by one.
