But despite all that I do believe jury trials are important, you do need an impartial third party (as much as 12 randos can be) and based on this very limited experience we all took it very seriously and deliberated throughly

It’s not an experience I want to repeat - I asked for a reasonable adjustment of having a transcript but they don’t do that till after (?) and the prosecution lawyer laughed at me when I asked if the video evidence would be subtitled so I wish I hadn’t fucking asked to be honest.

Seems to me you could reduce the court backlog if the police and CPS did their jobs correctly by actually investigating and looking at the evidence. Both these trials were for incidents that happened in 2020 - imaging waiting 5 years for a judge to say “this is bullshit” after 2 days.
