I also remember how utterly normal it seemed. You went to the pub and you didn't notice the fug. It was just part of life. You came home and you threw the clothes in the laundry. It was normal.

I can't imagine it now.

A better world is possible. We just need to imagine it, want it, make it.

I also remember the really awful smell of every pub for 6 months after the smoking ban came in - vomit soaked carpets, smoke-infested upholstery.

But then they refitted the space and it was great and only utter fools wanted to go back.

A load of muslins, some brownies and ready-made (but excellent pies). A toy if you must. Maybe a nice candle and a card saying "congratulations - it gets better I'm told"?
