AN IMMENSITY OF NOPE!

Yeah, I think especially in winter I will want the alive-plants-colors to look at for mental health purposes...

I have been thinking of chinoserie wallpaper for the upper dining room walls (because birbs), if I pick colors from that it should look cohesive with the sliding doors open 🤔

I don't like this show but the early 20th century club room interior is my lead- and arsenic- encrusted jam and I might do this color scheme for the bedroom because I am tired of putting blackened farmhouse patina on all the pillars and beams and doors and so forth.

Marathon flooring session brought to you by "the snow is too loud"

Finally recovered enough to consider getting back to work on the bedroom floor.

I brought the lumber for the new floor all the way from Mie, the home center there had a larger selection so I could select knot-free boards.

Frankly hazardous levels of cuteness.
They're on an electrically-heated perch, for extra cozy.

Incredible detail in Macross Plus: in the post-alien future, on a planet outside of the Sol System, there are still Toyama medicine-sellers dispensing first aid kits.

c'mon upload, work

I have approximately one hundred unfinished projects and more obi than I have shelf space for but consider the aesthetic value of an obi in a small-scale print that looks like regular mens' boring geometric and then you look closer and it's 1.5cm Western tea cups.

That only took 6 months.

I cut the channel for this surface drain when I took out most of the driveway, but then kept buying or renting broken demolition hammers. Finally got one that works, this took about 3 hours.

It seems like the mirror quality improves closer to freezing.

Frost in the garden this morning. I can't wait until the house is done and I can enjoy winter instead of feeling animal panic.
Fern + fishplant, oak leaf hydrangea, stewartia.

Not as beefy as 4, but you might like a pair Tanegashima scissors for your collection? They have thin dinky handles that you think would be unergonomic if you're used to shears but there's so little resistance when cutting that the lightness becomes appreciable.

Sometimes the scales of Patriarchy Hell balance in my favor.

I got another Balmuda range of the same year/make as the one up at the house for about $60USD because recycle shop dudes don't know about oven cleaner.

Over the pass and through the mysteriously warm tunnel, looking towards Noto.

Hauling 50lbs of expired pesticides and fertilizer over the pass to JA's biannual chemical disposal event and I am SO. TIRED.

Didn't have time to make a bed for the cranberries I found for sale with the Christmas foliage plants. Eventually I want to put them in the marshy spot around the spring. Divided and repotted with more soil and space so they can wait for next year.

A bounteous harvest! There's still a couple dozen at the very crown of the tree but I need someone to spot me on the ladder.
I don't think they're gonna be as good as last year's, when they're really sugary and delicious they get black freckles, but still, free food.

Getting faster, 1hr from Komaki to Taira.

Filtered so you can see the frostline on Ningyōyama through the mist.

Kerosene heater started wheezing consumptively and blowing cold air so onto the bike and over the mountain we go to the repair jiichan.
