The faces (plus various tendrils and animate movement) are what cement them as living creatures for me personally. They’re certainly more empathetic to me than, for example, KITT would be. Folk outside our bubble have their own preconceived notions, which is what it is. :(

I’m admittedly curious how you pass along your themes and stories without faces. You don’t exaggerate much else, so that’s a lot of heavy lifting on writing and tentacles. XD

For what it’s worth, I’ve always figured you to go to lengths to still make your machine faces take into account what they’re a part of. They’re certainly not just a human face mounted on a plate.

That’s still incredibly superior to subjects in context-free voids that require investigative journalism to dig deeper. Worked wonders on your lore sheets. Wish more artists at least included that.
