This is the only bipartisan issue I've found. The only issue R's have with it is the paranoia that people will "fake it". But it's really difficult faking being internationally adopted.

There are much better ways than redoing all of the plot points every scene.

The second episode could have used more of him coming into being in tune with the magical forest and being able to feel his way around. But instead we got tons of scenes of your father is dead from 5 different characters.

Then instead of rehashing the Eleanor information, which he already knows because literally was the previous scene.
You have her spit, "I hate them too. Come and fight us."
You can also hedge with the "No, yes... your father..."
And have her intercede with, "My father sold me to the English court."

I thought of ten better lines to "Do you hate even me?" but the canned line, "Why are you telling me this?" means they ran out of plot before the scene was over.
How about, "Yes! I hate you and everything that Normans stand for. You distract me."
Shorter for runtime? "Yes. Everything about you."

Say you're OK with the CW sort of repetition like you need to be baby sat in Robin Hood, then the drawn out dialogue bores. It's so stilted. "Why are you telling me this?" to the "Do you hate even me?" Nothing about it feels natural.

Episode 2 is the same plot point rehashed 12 times with some s*x.

I got the shit the other way... "How could you betray your Adoptive parents' love?" without knowing a lick of my information. It's like no matter what the system is built to make us lose.

PoCs who are not Biracial or TRA have no clue how racist white people can get. I've heard some of the worst of it and was forced to bite my tongue because of white rules.

But as I said, adoption absorbs the ills of society and adoptees get to see all of it and we're supposed to be happy about it.

I wouldn't call it trivial, I would just say it has different implications and intersectionalities involved.

There are times when I still have to pretend I'm white or remind people around me I'm not. And Ohhh boy, biracial and TRAs listen to the most racist things because those white people forget.
November 30, 2025 at 3:24 AM
My parents thankfully didn't use me for "teachable moments" for other white people about race, but they did do a lot of damage like sharing my price tag to strangers, not helping me build PoC networks which hurt a lot of my earning power. And straight up lied about Asian beliefs and race isolated.
November 30, 2025 at 2:59 AM
Because my parents were unwilling to engage in discussing race related topics, they were more than willing to say I was incompetent rather than understanding the issues I had with racism.

In adoptees, specifically, this leads to higher races of suicide ideation. Something MEPA refuses to discuss.

Yes, and Alison greets the other ghosts at the end, implying Alison gets to "die" there. But I think the way the US series is set up, the ghosts getting to pass on one by one and come back once a year makes more sense.

Christmas special they don't. Not going to give the spoiler, but the measure they take doesn't work. But I thought it would be a great closure to the series if they do and then they get to revisit for Halloween.
November 29, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Will it be sad/funny? Yes, but I kinda think it will be oddly satisfying to find that all of the ghosts got to find a way to pass on, like Sam wanted from the beginning and we get a good goodbye and they, in turn, finish their character arcs.

He's compromised with the picture of him and Bubba.

I wish I had a 3D printer... though most of the "patterns" online are inaccurate I would make my own. I had to do it by eye.

Space Opera is basically SF and Westerns combined. It's popular to combine Kurozawa and SF because Star Wars did it first. And Kurozawa heavily influenced Westerns.

Fantasy also gets combined with everything. Western Science Fiction Fantasy Mystery also exists. Brisco County Junior.
