Hey, your infamous computer witch made me pick the book up as a kid going to camp all those years ago. (And from what I recall, the book was good even lol)

I finally got through the 5th... as well as all the complaints about the format it just didn't do much for me at all, competently filmed but that's about it.

I haven't actually finished watching the 5th, I want to give it a fair shake but I'm so disinterested. The 4th, on the other hand, is fantastic.

This is where I'm at most of the time, slowly melting as my whole brain screams "MORE! AND ALSO LESS!"

I yelled about this on Discord and now I'm yelling the same yells here in desperate hope of finding My People, people who will watch any supernatural found footage regardless of quality who care about the Hell House LLC series and are annoyed by their framing choices for the 5th movie specifically.

Found footage asks for a very specific suspension of disbelief, the audience buy-in is that we will pretend what we are seeing is real and not fiction and the film's promise is that they'll do what they can to maintain that illusion. Betrayal of that buy-in is so jarring.

I have a real soft spot for these movies; I think the 1st and 4th are genuinely good and the 2nd and 3rd are bad but I'm fond of them regardless. My very narrow but very deep horror tastes lie in supernatural found footage, and after the last one being good I was hyped to see a new one! Y u do dis
