😂 my late uncle who died of lung cancer lived for seven years longer than predicted. He insisted that the reason he survived all the chemo and radiation and made it that long was because of years of eating Salisbury steak TV dinners. He insisted that after eating that he could tolerate anything. 😂

I did the Americorps thing as an older adult. After I lost my record deal, I went to college and then from there joined Americorps. It’s a shame so many of those programs have been cut. It was the greatest most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Might’ve actually done something good.

If I’m not mistaken, I read that music integrates the left and right sides of the brain. There’s been success using music for people with dementia. Unable to speak but play a song that they know and they can sing it. It was the greatest job I ever had. Even better than my recording artist days.

I did Americorps work in New Mexico supporting adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. I was hired to develop a music program. I saw the power of music first hand when a nonverbal client was able to sing “Hound Dog.” His speech therapist was speechless as was I. Music is powerful. 🥰

Wow, Mexican cheese is something else. We have Mexican grocery store here that has an actual deli counter just for their cheese. They even let you sample it. It’s sublime.

We are the same with our pomegranate no fruit yet. But there’s an amazing avocado and pomegranate tree on Sunset Cliff. I’m sure the people that live there think I’m nuts when I stare at it longingly 😂
