Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.
Release from HHS: HHS will wind down its development of the mRNA vaccine development activities under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

This squirrel started as a sketch at a demo I gave at Gwartzman’s last weekend. I added some color using QoR watercolors and a Pentel water brush in my Etchr A5 hot press sketchbook. Fun fact: squirrels bury thousands of nuts every season and use memory to find them later! 🐿️ #sciart

Here’s my first full-sized piece (9”x12”) on Etchr’s new hot pressed watercolor block–a dormouse in all its delicate detail! 🐭✨ The paper’s slightly textured surface is perfect for balancing detail and smooth washes, and the 350 gsm weight is a dream to work on. #sciart

Back to sketching bugs at Equator Coffee in Almonte with my new Golden QoR watercolors and a Pentel Aquash water brush! Loving how the colors pop. Did you know some beetles can lift over 1,000 times their weight? 🐞

Finished this graphite loon sketch during lunch. Used a Pentel Canada .5 mm Graphgear 1000 with 4B lead, BluTack, and a blender. Paddled beside one last week–such a haunting call and mystical bird. Did you know loons can dive up to 200 feet underwater? 🐦 #sciart

This eastern bluebird pushed my skills with its detailed feathers and textured birch perch! Painted with QoR watercolors and a Pentel Aquash brush, it’s all about the layers and a larger palette of about seven colours for this one. Thanks to Jan Allinder for the inspiring photo reference!

Just finished this great spotted woodpecker in watercolor! Loved using brighter colors, and rendering weathered birch bark was tricky. Painted in my Etchr A6 sketchbook with QoR colors and a Pentel Aquash brush. Fun fact: woodpeckers can peck 20 times a second without harm! #bird #sciart

Not a Jedi (wish I was) but it really feels like there has been a great disturbance in the force.

Diving into the entomological world with my latest piece: an ox beetle in watercolor. These tiny titans duel with their horns, echoing ancient battles. In this piece, strength and delicacy collide, capturing the beetle’s essence on paper with QoR Watercolors and a steady hand. 🖌️🐞✨#sciart
