What about the laws that could be broken with accessing data relayed to PII, PHI, FERPA. Did these employees and contractors go through mandatory compliance training? Is the government going to send breach notifications and pay for credit monitoring to us all?

If people don’t comply they are firing them, placing them on leave and or cutting their access. This is happening across multiple levels. FBI agents escorted out, inspector generals fired, etc. The checks and balances fall either to congressional action or judicial action. Both Trump ruled

It is a plan to ignore tribal sovereignty and claim we are nothing more than a race. It has been occurring in court cases. Read the dissenting opinion for the ICWA case. Tribal sovereignty has been under attack by him and his cronies for some time.

The other graduated with her bachelors in community sports management at 19, her master in education at age 21, & was employed right after graduation working in community & student engagement in higher education. While a student worked & played and was in leadership roles for sports clubs.

In the end, 1 decided a 4 year college wasn’t his thing. At 19 right graduated machinist program, selected for the longshoremen lottery. At 25 been on the B bench for a few years & uses machinist skills for side projects. He would have imploded at a 4 year & works a job he loves!

Most states have dual enrollment options for high school students. 2 of our kids lived in state with us, graduated HS with HS diploma and AAS degree. Both entered dual enrollment thinking they wanted to go to a 4 year college after HS. 1 wanted to be an engineer and 1 wanted to be a nurse.

No one should be going to college just for the 4 year experience. If someone doesn’t know what they want to study they for sure should not be going to a 4 year school. Just because a college is deemed a “great school” doesn’t mean the desired program of study is a great program.

Reality is key! Age appropriate conversations about cost of living including how much the things they like or like to do cost. ROI when it comes to cost of education and careers (entry level, possibilities, length to achieve desired income). Maturity and life skill level of your high school student

In addition, clue into what kind of learning style your child has, not what you think it is but actually what it is. Education doesn’t begin to at college there at way to many options and opportunities out there for so many different learning styles.

As a former career & tech HS teacher, someone who works in tech, & a parent in a blender family with 4 who are no in their 20s. Start age appropriate conversations early pointing out it is someone’s job to do “X”. From Disneyland to McDonald’s talk about it. Include conversation about cost of living
