That median always has campaign signs for the right wing candidates (which I don’t think is legal since it’s a median) so between that and the sheer weirdness of the sign I assume the reason behind the sign is extra stupid.

I would argue that science, math, medicine etc often require a creative approach and those who have a well rounded background that includes the arts and social sciences are more likely to be comfortable thinking ‘outside the box’.

Moments like these are a fine argument against elimination of the arts to focus on STEM. A strong education is a well rounded education and the liberal arts model is effective because what you encounter in, say, Comp Lit can impact how you approach a problem in Engineering and vice versa.
