So Orange Ozymandias stole Christmas with tariffs and unemployment. Now Thanksgiving; the poor can't afford food without SNAP, and the middle class won't be able to fly to visit their families.

On the 6th of September, 2001, our ship reached the North Pole, the first U.S. surface ship to do so unassisted. We had been out of satellite range for a few days. On September 11th, we regained comms. The CO called us to quarters at 3:00 p.m. and delivered the tragic news.

A Moscow man would buy a paper daily, look at the front page and discard it. After some weeks, the vendor asked what he was looking for. He replied "an obituary". "Obituaries are on the back page" said the vendor. "The one I'm looking for will be on the front page" the customer responded.
