I recently set out to read every one! Never Let Me Go has been one of my favorite books for a while, but it only just occurred to me to read the rest of his work - I'm obsessed!!

Maybe just because i read Remains of the Day last so it feels esp important, but I don't see people mentioning the subtext of post-war shame and guilt and the way the narrator refuses to engage with the brutalities of imperial Japan, even though it's explicitly mentioned towards the end

I just finished A Pale View of Hills and i desperately need a Nikkei review/interpretation of it. I hate that every review i find is by white ppl who don't engage w the cultural specifics of the novel
