Putting aside all the lies beneath that smug face, Jimmy Carter wearing a sweater to encourage sufficiency and sacrifice was a joke in the right wing for over two decades. Now they are literally saying "eat generic" and there is no pushback.

This reminds me so much of the German defendants in postwar trials engaging in hair splitting defenses that while they participated in atrocities they had broken no laws because said laws didn't exist.

President Hernandez was serving 45 years in prison for a plot to distribute 400 tons of cocaine before Trump pardoned him. Meanwhile, Trump is murdering fishermen in small boats for allegedly smuggling far smaller amounts.

The scene where the kids are being educated via a film still hits me. There is a lesson involving a cat and none of the kids will ever have the luxury of a pet. The idea that society is just fundamentally broken sticks with me.
