For some reason I recently remembered a mockumentary aired on BBC2 on 26 January 1993, called "Europe on the Brink", which imagined an Arctic dispute between the EU and US (unified with Canada and Mexico) that threatened to lead to war. Unfortunately can't find it online anywhere.
