idk, its mostly conjecture anyway

ultimately this could apply stress to an individual which could induce a positive feedback loop of stress pulling from processing power which in turn exacerbates the perceived disconnect that monotonic brains might experience

this could explain why dissociation is common. there is an inherent disconnect from one’s environment if they process said environment in discrete, sequential chunks rather than a little bit all at once. this could result in differences in perception between self and environment

i think its possible that auDHD is functionally monotonic ADHD where instead of processing the whole world at once the brain essentially rapidly scans the world similar to how a crt tv draws its picture

theres a theory of autism that attempts to describe it as a “monotonic” neurotype. in essence, a brain which is able to allocate high amounts of processing power but only to one (give or take) task at a time

the two facets being the creative and whimsical yet aloof and non-committal facet (ADHD) and the more type-a organized, “lets get this done” facet (Autism). they can communicate with each other but they rarely (if ever) act in parallel

again, in my experience.

it would be interesting to see the similarities of the experiences of people with auDHD and DID.

in my experience, theres a massive disconnect between what i know i’m capable of and what i actually do. and this manifests itself—again, in my experience—as being two people stuck in the same brain

Really wish I flunked a few more classes just so I could’ve stayed in Rogers Park and vote for you. You’re doing Chicago proud, Kat. Hell, you’re doing the world proud
