Nick Robinson and Michael Crick on BBC R4 Today blithely absolving Farage of racism just because Nigel learnt to stop hissing death camp gas sounds into his targets’ ears (and instead started doing his racism in political code) is giving me indigestion at 9am.

Today is the 4th anniversary of the worst ever tragedy in the Channel.

At least 27 men, women & children drowned in the freezing water, & 4 more have never been found.

Since then, neither we nor the French have done a thing to offer people in this situation with real solutions.

Really heartening to see so many out on a cold Sunday evening for a rally and a march with Women Against the Far-Right in Birmingham, ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

We rise to reject the use of this issue as a weapon against refugees.

After today's Sunday Mirror exposé about Ryan Bridge, Simon Murphy is unsurprisingly being attacked by Raise the Colours who accuse him of "talking shi*t about our movement". Thank you to Simon for exposing these people for who they really are.
Thrilled to have won the Orwell Prize for reporting homelessness among such an impressive group of finalists. Thank you to the judges, @orwellprize.bsky.social, my brilliant @mirror.co.uk colleagues & editors, charities who helped with our coverage & to those who trusted us to tell their stories.
