one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.

Volume of perfect albums from 2002 is staggering - Tim Hecker, Deerhoof, Black Dice, Sonic Youth, Mountain Goats all dropped career peaks, among others - but this is my pick. (I was mostly 16 in 2003, which was an even bigger year for good music imo.)

Anyone in the Denver area interested in seeing the modular synth legend Suzanne Ciani at Central Presbyterian on Saturday? I have an extra ticket. Amazing venue and a rare chance to see her perform.

One year since the Plastic Boogie that changed my mind about Plastic Boogie
Revisiting '24 during this lull in daily Gizz. I'm not a huge Plastic Boogie fan but the OKC version was off the rails. This jam goes everywhere, light to dark, delicate to crushing. Then it flows seamlessly into a nasty Open Water. WTF.
