I felt seen when I read that…

Fell through the ceiling, apparently - I'm sure after doing that, and landing next to the bog, Rocky thought "fuck it, my job is done here" and promptly fell asleep.

I've been there. A while back...

That is outright Dangerous Gain-of-Function Research, now banned. I do like the ring of Ortho-HODOs, however.

I was prompted to write this due to your recent (excellent, I must admit...) preprint on EBOLA VIRUS, not EBOV, evolutionary dynamics...

Next up, are we going to abbreviate hotdogs to "HDs" (w/ K+M+R for ketchup, mustard, remoulade) and ICTHD making their scientific name Ortho-hotdog ketchupaense?

And if you're coming into my replies saying, "oh, but don't you know, it's not actually "Lassa virus" it's "Lassa mammarenavirus" or "Mammarenavirus lassaense", you know I'm going to spike your next drink with Virus X + FCS v2.0 I designed with ChatGPT and printed out in the lab 🦹‍♂️🧪.

Be warned.

That is not an acceptable standpoint. When it comes to hot dogs, you’re either with us or you’re against us.

Chose carefully. 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰

FWIW, I find LLMs incredibly useful and I use them frequently - so does my lab, where we (try to...) build new tools taking advantage of them.

However, it is critically important to understand their promise vs limitations. Make sure your "rapture-to-bullshit continuum" is well-calibrated...

Some of my best friends are dogs too. Hotdogs.
