(2 of 2) that will blow up in their face. Guess what, giving into a bully, a extortionist, or other thug with bribes isn't getting you on their good side longer than that 1 transaction. Expect more demands and bigger demands now that you caved in.

Part 2 of 2
3) iOS will not allow clickable links from unknown senders which is why they want you to go to the website and reply "Y"

There's other smishing kits out there that may not show the email address, but the general scam is the same. Be safe out there. #OSINT #smishing

I've been seeing this around lately (Fake FasTrak) smishing invoices. I wanted to point out a couple things so you an avoid this scam and understand how this works. 1) FasTrak does not send texts, they mail invoices 2) The sender is a email address (Germany of at that) Part 1 of 2 #OSINT #SMISHING

#Snopes is always a great resource and fun to read. It's a little funny when someone makes some BS claim followed by "Fact check it!" like it's some sort of flex, when in reality it's more like a diversionary tactic trying to make it sound legitimate. So wish granted, fact checked and false. Next...

Things you think about printing when your boss is off for the day, you have keys to their office, and you have a washing machine sized 3D printer sitting behind you....

A lot of crypto are scams, especially mem crypto. I have a hard time believing people saw this one as anything other than a "pump n' dump" scam , but that minimum domain registration doesn't exactly scream "confidence" in that thing. I wonder who's going to squat and snatch it up?

So what's the point @linkedin.com having the ability to report misinformation when you're just going to say "No issue here!" This actually goes for all social media. The ability to post clearly totally fabricated information in order to promote yourself, your brand, change public opinion with a lie.

It's been a while since I have used Pinger for

sock puppets, but this is a new one for me. It looks like when you pick up a recycled phone number you get the previous person(s) text messages. Interesting pivot point and also a reminder never to use this for sock puppets wt sensitive info!

Yeaaa.... that sentence is the bane of every security professional when a user says that.
January 14, 2025 at 10:20 PM
#OSINT not quite. USPS has what looks like a usps.com url, but it really goes to trackexf.top/us a HK registered domain with a 1 year lease. Also the country code for the phone number is the Philippines. be wary of smishing attacks

Conducting an OSINT investigation: Reverse image search, check the meta data, object recognition in the background, shadow calculation… or just ask @markhamillofficial.bsky.social about that Tiefighter in the picture 🙄

Now they want people to use encryption 🙄Encryption was always a good idea to secure yourself.

Basic #OSINT tools to determine if it's a phishing email:
spydialer.com
routingnumber.aba.com/Search1.aspx
www.whois.com/whois/
www.google.com/maps
apps.ilsos.gov/businessenti... (Change for your state)
osint.rocks
Validate your results, use a sock puppet and a VM.
