Well Australia does have a lot of people with Greek ancestry. Makes sense some of their ancient military traditions would pop up.

Damn kids. Suspension of disbelief is for the story, not the production. See the strings on that spaceship? Think of the team who made it, painted it, lit it with coloured gels, filmed it at 50% speed so it moves all majestic-like in the edit. Be awed by the sheer human creativity in front of you.
