You have to love each other.
You have to defend each other.
You have to fight.
This in a city of over a million people. I happened to buy an item last night and this morning the guy who delivered it was someone I'd met and talked to (in a different context) 5 days earlier.

I confess I don't have any conclusion to draw from this. It's just kind of weird.

This morning it arrived. I stumbled outside half dressed to pick up the box, when the delivery man (who had reached his car) yelled "Hey, I know you! You're Kevin!"

Turns out we'd gone to the same meetup last Saturday (along with 6 or 7 other people) and had an interesting conversation...

"I recommend counseling so the two of you can work this out peacefully" said Superman. "But.. I will be checking up on you. And from now on, if you hit this boy I'm throwing you in the river."

It would be so nice if we could get rid of them. Even just a carefully selected few.

I don't have a lot of hope it'll happen, but I admire the people that are doing these petitions.

What's wrong with ketchup? It's made for hot dogs, or maybe hot dogs are made for ketchup.

Jenet Klyburn! There's a name from the past. As a kid I always confused her with Susan Calvin from Isaac Asimov's robot stories. Not sure why, but for some reason I assumed both had red hair and wore white lab coats.

Her character arc is my biggest problem with the movie. I get why she does what she does, and I like the character. But synths in the Alien universe just don't get ideas of their own and switch teams. They obey their programming. The only explanation I can think of is that Thia is very damaged.

But Dek grows and changes in this movie. It's so weird to become emotionally invested in a hideous alien, but it worked for me.

There are human-like characters, notably Dakota Fanning's synth Thia. She's very appealing, and without her it would practically be an animated movie But still...

2. This is the first film where the predator is the protagonist. He has a name (Dek), and even has a character arc. In the previous films the predator is the monster preying on human characters, but this time it's his story. A lot of people might not be interested in that...

Badlands is just bigger in every way, with massive action and special effects in every scene. But it's also quite unusual in at least a couple of ways that might explain why it's not connecting with audiences.

1. There are no humans in the film. None. It's aliens and robots.

2...

Maybe if you tickled Superbaby in the right spot, he'd use super-hypnosis and everybody in the world would forget what he did last. Sure, that mountain always had a giant hole in it...

More Moorcock would really be something, or any Moorcock at all. He's a an incredibly influential writer who's never been adapted to the screen.
