ROTJ is my favourite but I do concede that ESB is the better movie.

TFA doesn't really add anything interesting from a larger perspective due to the fact that it's essentially a plagiarized ANH & it sets up most of the things people didn't like about TLJ regarding Luke.

There are (theoretically) ways to do causal effect estimation with simulated data. This was the topic of my doctoral thesis. But there are many many ways to get it wrong and simply reproduce your starting assumption as if it were a finding.
