There's one season (8 episodes) of a TV show called Taboo (Amazon) starring Tom Hardy in 1814 London battling the East India Company and the Crown of England. The vibe and setting are great, as is Tom Hardy and Tom Hollander and Jonathan Pryce. Sadly the last two episodes take kind of a turn
