Making music at maximilianandthereinhardt.bandcamp.com

Midwest enthusiast.
Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

This week Wham is still on top but Tina continues to ascend (again). No way to explain why Dennis DeYoung is still hanging around, but at least Pat Benatar's 'We Belong' has entered the chat.

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

It's getting dark early, but still warm enough to hang out on the curb with some buds and listen in as Duran Duran and New Edition come roaring into the bottom 10 and Wham make it big

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

Billy Ocean ascends, Chicago possibly outstaying its welcome, Tina is about to come roaring back, and Dennis DeYoung is still inexplicably rising.

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

This week Prince owns the charts with 2 singles and 2 more that he wrote/produced. Stevie is still on top but Tina is back on the charts so his reign may be coming to an end soon.

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

Lot of movement this week with Tina and Bananarama exiting the countdown to make room for some lesser Rick Springfield and...Dennis DeYoung?

Stevie still on top though.

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

This week Stevie takes the throne from Prince on a list made up almost entirely of some of the heaviest hitters to ever do it. And Rod Stewart.

Nothing new for Bandcamp Friday, but you WILL be able to own The Lake on vinyl by December should you choose to do so.

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984. Sometimes I'm a day late.

This week Prince claims the throne from John Waite, Billy Ocean comes storming into the charts and Ghostbusters is...still here.

Gonna be just a WEE bit longer (have to get the new test press) but by the end of the year The Lake can be yours on vinyl if you're the kinda of person that enjoys that sort of thing.

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

This week we're losing "I Can Dream About You" but gaining a Night Ranger.

We'll never get rid of Ghostbusters 🙄

Tina still runs Bartertown

Every Saturday I make a playlist of the Top 20 from that week in 1984.

This week Peter Wolf's "Lights Out" is on the list but not on streaming. Advantage to Bananarama, who now gets to enter this chart a week early.

Regardless, all hail QUEEN TINA

Look...I love Wisconsin with all my heart but nobody, and I mean nobody, is calling any BBQ from this state, much less brisket, the best in the country 😂

Taking my afternoon walk down by the shore snd discovered that "The Lake" tree that Patti Hall so brilliantly recreated for the album cover is gone.

I guess there's a metaphor in there somewhere

I almost forgot I had the chance to shoot The Beach Boys/Brian Wilson way back in 2012, which now is an absolute lifetime ago.

Lucky I got to do this. RIP to the best.

Today marks one year since the release of my first full-length LP, The Lake’. 🧵

Shepherding these six songs from somewhere deep within me into the world was a long journey (almost 5 years) that taught me countless lessons, not just about music, but about myself.

Eternal thanks to @jasonnarducy.bsky.social and Michael Shannon for having hearts big enough not just to contain this history, but to share it with us all and make it part of the present once again.

I'll probably have more words on the site next week (and as a result of this show I'll likely be rebuilding Discologist's live coverage department sooner rather than later) but, suffice to say, these shows are all time greats and should not be missed.
