If a street done in isolation, with no changes to environment yes I'd agree. Area based zones followed by the required physical changes to the geometry of the street and yes, a level of enforcement are proven to work.

Its needed and will be a welcome addition to the housing stock in Cork. More scope to do more with BusConnects, P+R, bridge over the Link to TvP and hopefully a future N-S Luas.

Certainly more night clubs open anyway. I do remember going to the GPO in Galway around 1998. They were giving curry and chips as part of the entry fee!

One of the top BE guys in Cork reckoned we didn't need the Luas given the stare-of-the-art bus service we have in Cork a couple of years back. Its beyond a joke waiting for no-shows and buses not aligned with AVL satellite info.
