I'm a big fan of retro computers, old consoles, emulation and cats
I don’t have many boxed Famicom games but I seem to have started collecting all the Namco Namcot ones which is going to be an impossible task.

With the help of an ill four year old child and some mild bad language I’ve managed to get this rather worn out ASCII arcade stick working on one Famicom. It won’t work on the others for some reason but progress is progress.

We're taking a look at Fujitsu's first proper boxed up computer, the Micro 8 - but not just that, we're looking at the rarer and funkier bubble memory drive too youtu.be/ach_WvR3x_U #RetroComputing

Like all 1980s electronics it smells like someone used this Spectrum as an ashtray.

Saturday night is the perfect night for Famicom Galaga

Happy new year! Remember to eat more vegetables in 2026.

This is a sadly optimistic slogan/warning when everyone else is asleep. They are enjoying sleep and I am enjoying the biscuits.

I’m going to do my absolute best to not buy any retro computers or consoles in 2026 until every single one I have in the backlog is repaired, working and/or upgraded. I might even get as far as getting rid of some of the duplicates but also pigs might fly.

Finally managed to get the kids to sleep and now I can enjoy the best part of Christmas Eve, which is killing an entire packet of Jaffa Cakes whilst watching TV and then not sleeping due to indigestion.

RE:Enthused has been running for 10 years, in that time i've made the first videos on several machines, cleared up bad information, helped improve emulation, made open-source parts and quit once
I came back because of the people who watch my videos, thanks to all of you.

A new @herring1967.bsky.social dvd! It’s like Christmas came a week early.

I just spent a whole hour trying to plug a pcmcia card into an expresscard slot before I realised that it was an expresscard slot. Might be time for a trip to the Optician.

Visual Studio is simultaneously amazing and very frustrating.

Against my better judgement I’ve bought myself more boxed megadrive and genesis games. I think I need to pair my collection down a bit it’s starting to feel a bit hoardery

I’ve managed to destroy my C64 psu and my Amiga 600s hard drive in the same month. Retro hardware is hard work.
December 9, 2025 at 8:45 AM
I’m spoilt for choice this evening…. ashtray smelling C64C with non working joystick port or randomly crashing BBC with very bad audio mod.

Time to get the C64 out to see if I can figure out exactly what is wrong with it

Isopropyl alcohol is great for cleaning old cartridge edge connectors but it sure does give you a headache if you don’t follow the ventilation instructions.

My Xbox login pin has once again been thwarted by a 3 year old. Let’s see how long it takes him to figure out how to plug in an HDMI cable as he won’t be able to play if it has no screen attached.

Finally getting around to cleaning and testing my latest batch of imported junk Famicom games. I never played Quarth before and it’s really great. More proof Konami made some amazing games in the 1990s.

I couldn't resist. I tried.

Cleaning and testing Famicom cartridges is a nice relaxing change when the day has been long and somewhat annoying.
November 1, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Apprently yesterday whilst I was ill in bed I ordered another dozen Famicom(s/es) from Japan.

That’s it, no more machines this year.

Unless they are ones I really, really want. Or are cheap. Or interesting.

Cleaning out the garage I found a box of old PC games including the first PC I game I ever bought, the budget re-release of Golden Axe.
