As we welcome the long-overdue ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the release of all hostages, and the resumption of aid to Gaza, we must also acknowledge that there's a long road ahead toward sustainable peace. That road must be built on justice, accountability, and respect for human rights.

Happy #InternationalDayofTheGirl! The little girl in this photo is me. If I could tell my younger self one thing, I’d say: forgive. Forgive, and forgive again. And then, change the structure that allowed that injustice to occur. Always forgive the person. Always work to change the structure.

Everyday people in U.S. immigration detention suffer inhumane treatment that violates the most basic human rights. ICE has become a rogue agency, rampant with physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, and shielded by impunity. It's past time to hold our government accountable for these abuses.
