Horribly pertinent to recent interview on BBC advocating a shift 'towards' psychosomatic

In some ways hard to believe given first line of battle confronted by patients 'can' be the need to convince clinician that symptoms are 'not' this

Not for the sake of argument but for the sake of related care
As I read this article I thought about people like Natalie Shure — remember her writing about then doubling down on her thoughts about long covid as a psychological illness? https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanmic/article/PIIS2666-5247(23)00115-5/fulltext#%20

Good to hear both ‘lessons learned’ and ‘no blame culture’ discussed productively this morning

In the absence of this would say their range can be somewhere between meaningless and insulting

Good to see 'avoidable' mentioned

There can be eg avoidable misdiagnosis also

Indeed

Find this can be evident if as patient you try to make the point that some of issues in healthcare can be exactly same within private care as within NHS
This applies to the left as much as to the right
How not to do science in 2 easy steps

1) Have a fixed political standpoint

2) Interpret all scientific data (real or fake) to fit your fixed political standpoint

Thank you

Which is generally quickest to propose/adapt to Change, Medicine or the Law?

What is likely to happen to some performance when eg

System is very defensive

Default rule to distrust everything patient says

Or are these a ‘to be expected’ albeit unspoken rule?

(NHS and Private)
