As long as you're not as miserable as when you did, that decision was a good "compromise" 😁

And so's the distance. And healthcare (or at least its distribution). I'm driving 200 miles (the opposite direction) today to see a specialist about my headaches.

In the middle of Kansas? It's ~40 miles to the nearest train station! A 4.5 hour ride at 2am (only one train a day) or a 2.5 hour drive whenever.
US public transit is shit!

Good luck! It took me a while to find a coach. The first one I had, her program got cut by the university it was associated with due to pressure from our wonderful government. I've got another one now, but telemedicine isn't the same as in-person visits. I just can't drive 180 miles every fortnight.

I guess I'd also be concerned that a singing coach might be more strictly focused on range than the other details that make a voice sound femme.

Trans-femme coach. I'm learning that I need to un-learn a lot of habits I have from 40 years of singing to make this happen, but LH (my coach) says I'll be able to go back to it (singing) after I make these ideas habit for speaking. I should be able to code-switch for that.

My doctor had a cruel opening move: being more than 150 miles away. But he's the closest specialist...

That doesn't make sense, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore.

If it's just "free speech", we can use whatever pronouns *we* like for the plaintiffs and majority judges. Right?

Great series. I just picked up another E. K. Johnston Star Wars book, Ashoka, and am excited to crack that one open.

I attended one of those sold out games. Yet 1/3 of the stands were empty.
I mean, it's a beautiful view of the river, and the food is amazing.

The crew makes the Cerritos. That show was far and away the most fun I've had with a Trek show. It was fanfic with heart and humor.

Defiant, Protostar, Enterprise (SNW), Voyager, Enterprise-E... I mean, they did some cool stuff with the D (and C) including blowing it up a whole bunch of times, but I agree that it's kinda low on the rankings.
LEGO, though...that alone has me tempted...

What a nomadic life you've had! If I'm being generous I've lived in 5 cities. But two pairs were different suburbs of the same city, so 3 is more reasonable. And all locations can fit within a circle with a diameter of 175 miles.

This video will have to be just live in my imagination, I think.

And in their place a rabbi, or someone wearing some obvious marker of the faith, appears, perhaps carrying a menorah. Literally replacing the marchers. Until the last guy at the front of the group realizes he's chanting by himself, turns around, and the camera zooms in on his terrified face.
