From Brian Jarman’s inequality maps of the 1970s to David Widgery’s activism it also gives me hope that the fight to tackle inequality is still out there, even if sadly lacking from the current government agenda. This is not the end of the story!

From M’Gonigle and Kirby,‘Poverty and Public Health’, 1936. This features in the exhibition I’m curating on health inequalities. Hospital admissions for malnutrition were on the rise even before today’s welfare cuts.

Only recently discovered Wandsworth Prison Museum exists but it is fascinating. Tiny but fascinating. Here’s the unofficial prison magazine from 1939 www.capcollections.org.uk/business-dir...

Great day talking about nursing and the climate crisis @fulhampalace.bsky.social. The only photo I took was a (lovely) pond, but all the speakers were fantastic. Especially wowed by the idea of zero emission steam from the Museum of Water and Steam which I must now visit!

30 years ago today.💔 I don't remember what I was doing, because Richey's disappearance wasn't made public for about 2 weeks. I did memorise his car numberplate in case he passed me on my way to school though. I still remember it.

Enjoying revisiting 'Mind Boggling Medical History' for a new project. This was a card game Sally Frampton and I developed where every statement was a current, past or fictional medical theory or practice. Here's an easy one to start with...

Looking very festive at Walthamstow dog stadium, ready for our community Christmas Party on Wed. This is the original tote board from 1932, grade II listed along with the iconic neon frontage. #WalthamForest

I don’t know her name – presumably, like me, she was from Kent. I do know she was a patient in the 1870s, when she drew this sketch of Bethlem as a bird cage. Bethlem’s chaplain described his peek inside her sketchbook in 1899, and later used the artist’s cartoon to illustrate talks.
