The natural environment is the foundation of human existence, and its quality is a strong influence on our individual and collective wellbeing. The idea that "the environment" or "climate change" should only be taught as stand-alone courses is absurd on its face.

University of California, San Diego, requires all students to learn about climate change, while other schools have added environmental sustainability requirements.
