Deregulation is just another word for "license to pillage"

When you turn capitalism loose, the common man always comes out on the short end of the deal.

If anyone deserves this, it's Jamie Dimon. The problem is, no one deserves to be singled out by a government due to the perceived thumbing of their nose to someone who has achieved political power.

I thoroughly despise both parties, but t3p is more so wrong in this case

This is exactly what their intent is. They want to destroy your ability to trust basic facts so they can insert their own interpretation and have it become accepted as an alternative reality

Those bribes (err... campaign contributions) have to have a reasonable ROI, right?

If only certain "people" would recognize that naming someone increases risk. Oh, that certain person knows full well what his words do ..

And don't forget, "The Bible" has been translated multiple times by people (men) who also had their own agendas.

More often than not, those agendas included "make sure the masses are subjugated and I'm put on a pedestal."

Disgusting. Not at all surprised (expected behavior)...

Those Republicans are known as "collateral damage." They're "acceptable loss" assets to be moved around the chess board. Their loss (if they are lost, chances are they'll justify the abuse and keep voting red) keeps the hardcore base energized.

It's a distraction. A wedge issue (much like trans rage).

Also, it's expensive to implement, so small companies will struggle with compliance, which opens market share for large enterprises (that spend millions lobbying politicians)

Many people don't understand how compound interest works. Even among those who do, desperate people resort to desperate measures.

The payday loan business is the "towing company" of lending. Predatory business practices abound.

I'll never understand how someone runs a business like that.

This was my intent.

Cherry picking, the lifeblood of disinformation.
December 26, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Cherry pick much?

"The institutions Savage discusses in his piece employ approximately 0% of the US population, but their transformations plus DEI rhetoric plus an internet community aimed at negatively messaging about it all can generate the impression of something much bigger going on."

Air Force basic training, late 1970s. "Smoke em if you've got em" ... Smokers were given smoke breaks while everyone else had to stand in formation. A LOT of recruits started smoking during basic training.

Were you expecting something else?

Government should NEVER be run like a business. Government's purpose is fundamentally different from business. Business's #1 goal is "make money". Government's #1 goal is (should be) "serve the constituents".

If only government leaders understood the difference...

Did Cloudflare approve this version number??

Qualified immunity needs to go. End of story.
December 4, 2025 at 11:24 PM
I didn't have to look to see how the justices "appear" to have swung.

I'm disappointed and saddened, but not surprised. This SCOTUS is the most partisan in decades and is hell-bent on giving the solitary Executive all the power they can.

They're allergic to any name with a (D) next to it. It doesn't matter that the disease comes from the (R) name.

Even if we were in a war (we're not) a remote tactical strike is not the kind of thing that elicits the fog of war.

Pinned down for days under intense, direct enemy fire might do it.

Watching war games on your monitor does not qualify.

There are degrees of proficiency. I can drive in Spain, even though I'm not Spanish-proficient. The speed limit signs are a non-issue. I think most nationalities use Arabic numbers these days.

As for 🚫 English attracting attention from ICE, that's just wrong (I know it happens, but it's wrong!)

Boozy Pete is being set up to take the inevitable fall. He'll be cut loose without a whiff of regret. If he's lucky, he'll get a pardon in exchange for his silence. If he's unlucky, he'll be silenced.

And now there are probably extra medium raid jackets (with patches) on every flight and at every field office. Just in case...
