Nuclear waste needs to be stored safely — not an impossible task.

Lots of government funding will be needed in the campaign against climate change, no matter what carbon-free source turn to.

You are repeating rote, simplistic answers to problems that are technical and complex. Do some reading.

Nuclear power produces electricity with no carbon emissions. It is definitely part of the solution to climate change. You are clinging to outdated myths.

OK, I looked it up.

Nuzzi IS bad, and the widespread efforts to come up with "Yeah, but..." rationalizations are perplexing and disheartening.

For a harmless, 10-year-old photo from a USO tour while he was a comedian, weaponized by a right wing talk show host? Give your head a shake. If you believe that, you are a sucker for the American right.

After what Gillibrand did to Al Franken, why would anyone think she should be a presidential candidate? She's a showboating opportunist, and shouldn't be a Democratic nominee for any office.

No, but fuddy-duddy covers it nicely.

"Politico, Rolling Stone, and other media organizations were later said to have reached similar conclusions during their investigations, determining not to bar Lizza from employment."

"Lizza was temporarily suspended by CNN pending an investigation; six weeks later, the network announced that its "extensive investigation" had yielded "no reason to continue to keep Mr. Lizza off the air".

No, that's not what I said, and "revenge porn" is an invidious way to describe what he posted. What I said is that three reputable journalistic organizations carried out their own investigations and found no basis for not using his work.

Pro tip: McDonald's premium roast coffee is excellent, head and shoulders better than Statbucks'.

Alleged conduct that three other reputable journals investigated and found unsupported.

Accusations are easy. Evidence, not so much.

I think his best song is actually his cover of Tickle Cove Pond, by Mark Walker, an otherwise obscure 20th Century fisherman and songwriter originally from Bonavista. Hynes's version will send chills down your spine.

Not at all. I'm suggesting that public funds/resources should be proportional to their use. We shouldn't dedicate 20% of road space to the exclusive use of 1/10th of 1% of road users.

When January or February roll around, take a few minutes and stop along your regular bike route. Count the number of cars and Council number of bikes. 100 to 1? 1,000 to 1?
November 20, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Good for you. I never suggested riding bikes in winter was impossible, merely that it's an activity who's appeal is limited to a tiny minority of cycling zealots. It will never be a mainstream commuting method. As such, it is not worthy of public funds or dedicated road space.
