Our acute hepatic disruption also serves as proof-of-concept for manipulating bile acids to control absorption, which is becoming more and more important in the field. Excited to see this published, and we hope you enjoy it!

We took the hepatic AAV-CRISPR tool development I did as a graduate student in the Lagor Lab at BCM, supercharged it, and built better tools to study metabolism in the ETV Lab. The resulting studies gave us insights into fatty acid absorption that were previously muddied in whole body knockouts.

I can’t sit still long enough for gel removal 😝

You might be able to do regular polish stamping over gel, which should be more forgiving for mistakes. You can also do nail art with acrylic paints which you can scrape away with a toothpick if you mess up. Then top coat with a light hand.

Do you ever wear normal polish? Or always gel? My weekend reset usually includes a regular polish mani - Holo Taco holds up well for me on the lab, and their top coat dries fast enough that I can do my nails before bed. Nail stamping is another option for fun designs.

Your name was such an interesting fun fact during the scicomm stream you did with the SciAnts - it was awesome to see you there and hear you chat about science in a casual format!

Whoa! What an epic amount of work! This is going to take multiple rounds of reading to digest. Congratulations!

I like how this is organized. How do you think this could be applied to a whole lab of people?

We set aside 20min in class for a Q&A on funding a lab, federal funding, IDCs, and ongoing policy shifts. Was definitely not enough time. Such great and insightful questions

Probably could have taken the whole class

Anyway. 10/10 would recommend

Yes, I think for most of today. Very frustrating and it’s making me nervous.
