Kudos to Publishers Weekly for featuring #KidLit translators, including @averyudagawa.bsky.social ( #SCBWI Global Translator Coordinator) & @kellyzhang.bsky.social. Article includes opinions re: whether AI can replace literary translators and importance of visibly crediting translators on books.

Yes, translators are independent artists and literary creatives. When you name the writer and illustrator of a translated book, please don't forget to #NameTheTranslator
In addition to crediting illustrators, #NameTheTranslator for translated works!

Kudos to @averyudagawa.bsky.social & @lawrenceschimel.bsky.social, for example! Any other book translators here on Bluesky? Post your shoutout or reply with #NameTheTranslator hashtag.
#PicturesMeanBusiness has been an amazing partner over time to #NameTheTranslator. Likewise with translated works, be sure to name the translator as well as the author! Someone performing a creative service who gets a copyright line!

After 3 months of struggling through writer's block (more like a "revision block") on my 2nd picture book under contract, I have finally come upon a satisfactory solution.
What a relief!
And now I can go indulge in a moon cake 🥮.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
