Looking for my #rstats friends on ALL the platforms...
One final heartwarming moment from #positconf2025: dropping my students off at Tidy Dev Day! 😍

Three talented #rstats programmers coming your way, #tidyverse!

Now back to reality - thanks for another beautiful week of learnings and Rfriends.

Could this {uv} solution recommended by @juliasilge.com be the answer to the personal hell that is "Import Error: no module named 'numpy'" ?

We took the @rdatatable.bsky.social hex stickers to see their real-life mascots!

If you're at #positconf2025, come by the #rdatatable Birds of a Feather at lunch today to chat about the future of the package and get some swag!

I loved the "Hmmmmmm" in the crowd when @jcheng5.bsky.social showed this data quality problem uncovered by the #positron Databot tool.

No human caught this during the Tidy Tuesday for the data.

I've been skeptical of AI for data analysis, but this is an extremely compelling use case. 🫣

The always delightful @k-bott.bsky.social shares the educational principles of Posit Academy for teaching professionals in the wild:

Practice that is:
💫 Repeated over time,
💕 relevant to their domain,
🪜 within their reach, and
👯‍♂️ conducted in a community.

It's so hard to give a "teaching how to teach" talk in a way that includes concrete, actionable advice.

@ryjohnson09.bsky.social just nailed it.

(Pic taken from the floor, because here at #positconf2025 the education sections are popular! 🥳)

.... and also a really really cool one that was surprising to me even as an educator. I had no idea videos made *that* much of a measurable impact!

Incredibly relatable slide from Kene David Nwosu at #positconf2025...

(also, first time I've seen Hofstadter's law referenced by someone besides @stat110.bsky.social !)

I've been hyped about @rundel.bsky.social's {parsermd} for a long time, and now that it's Quarto-ready, I shall definitely be building on it! 👷‍♀️🛠️

So many possibilities - like the ability to create a student version and solution version from the same source doc!

Huge 👏👏👏 to @calpolyslo.bsky.social WunderKind @visruth.com for his #useR2025 talk on {flourish}!

🌟{flourish} is a Quarto extension for adding highlighting to source code chunks - the successor to {flair} in Rmd.

Last but very definitely not least in the #useR2025 ⚡️talks: @vincentab.bsky.social showing us the power of {tinytable}!

IMHO: {gt} is king for fancy reproducible html tables, but {tinytable} should be the go-to for quick formatting and other file formats.

LOVED McCall Pitcher's ⚡️ talk at #user2025 showing how she cleverly used existing ggplot tools to turn her plot into snappy storytelling.

Deceptively simple code, but some truly clever ways to tweak the plot!

(Is she on here? I couldn't find an acct...)

{hexsession} by @liomys.mx is fun and useful!

Produces css/html snippets that tile hex logos nicely, e.g. to showcase your #rstats package projects. 😎

In the frenzy of exciting #useR2025 talks, I forgot to mention that I also gave my talk. 😆

The step that resonated most for me in this talk was "Ownership". @yabellini.bsky.social challenged us to think of the moment where I felt like #rstats was *my thing* and not just something I use.

The answer is unequivocally my first #tidyverse Dev Day. 🥰

Inclusivity is key at every step. 🌎🌍🌏

I've been excited for @yabellini.bsky.social's #user2025 Keynote since it was announced!!!

Title slide does not disappoint. 🥰

"I believe #rstats is an orchestrator. It's the language that binds your data to all the other tools."

Case in point: direct 6-line implementation of an attention layer, leaning on torch and luz packages...
