Ooooh, I remember the terror of the f's and miss it. I also had a journalism prof request names/phone numbers of our sources...after we had turned in our stories. He called every single one to double-check quotes and that we had done the interviews ourselves🤩 Led to a couple people "dropping" out.

WILD times in #bcpoli over here, I love my province, but omggg. I feel er... incapacitated.

This whole thing is WILD. #bcpoli never boring.

Regardless of whether @johnrustad4bc.bsky.social should stay or go, "professional incapacitation" being used as the reason for ousting him seems like a legally dicey and concerning precedent.

Ah well, #bcpoli is never boring.

I can't get over this language. It's peak gobbledygook.

*Not a standard legal term in 🇨🇦 law
*No other 🇨🇦 political parties use this language in their constitutions
*Doesn't appear in federal/provincial legislation, or parliamentary procedure docs.

Insert bad joke about shift F7-syndrome here

Clark. Like Clark Kent. Clark Gable. Or Clark Griswold.

My favourite is when it's a really (really) terrible question, everyone winces, and they still say it... tiny joys.

It is sad, disrespectful and honestly, totally confounding to me. The "I know best" attitude is, imo, not only disrespectful to SO many Vancouverites, it's disrespectful to democracy.

I genuinely cannot find/think of any example in our city's entire history where 600+ (or so) people spoke to council w. specific concerns about a specific issue (like a budget) and they have all been essentially ignored. And we wonder why people are jaded about participating in local politics?🧐

I think Flaherty too.

Okay, gotcha, thank you! And for the more than 100 "temporary" parks, would it be the basic majority/66% approval vote needed to remove the designation?

Help, I'm confused about the City Council portion of this - do they have to vote unanimously to eliminate the Park Board after the referendum? Could some councillors just say "nahhhh"?
