Last Sunday I spoke at a conference in Birmingham and managed a brief side trip to this place of pilgrimage. Consider this a teaser for something exciting I can't talk about publicly yet....

Also, this isn't a monument to England's Judeo-Christian heritage you absolute wankers.

In 1000 years time, Jenrick and Kruger will be celebrated as proud exemplars of England's fundamentally Islamo-Scientological heritage.

This is how God intended us to rock a Music Man bass.

I'm dipping into the edited Live Aid repeat on BBC and, as someone with a longstanding interest in this event, I've created a badly put together a bingo sheet as a service to other viewers.

I did some research and it appears the guy has subsequently repented from his misdeeds.

Watching Live Aid highlights on BBC and was about to post about how cool Sade was...Until I saw her bassist's high bass holding position. It's almost round his fucking neck! Shame on him. Shame on Sade enabling him. Shame on Bob Geldof. Shame on us all.

This weekend has reminded me how my book sets its face against the exhausting zeitgeist that too many of us Jews are addicted to: On Saturday Eurovision became all about us once again. On Sunday a sensible, money-saving bureaucratic procedure in British Jewry was oversold as an epoch-making event.

To mark a cinematic future in which American movies will no longer be shot on location abroad, here is my favourite example of a non-credible location shoot: Wales standing in for the Khyber pass in Carry On Up The Khyber. What's your favourite?

Do you remember Gripper Stebson's sidekick? Vance couldn't even bully Roland Browning without Trump's authorisation.

I suspect many other authors also feel this way the week their books are published.

While Luna is, of course, pleased to see that copies of my book Everyday Jews have now arrived (ahead of publication date of 13 March), she herself is waiting for the audiobook.

This is my favourite Jewish joke of all time. Too long to post so I found a screengrab from a sermon at my synagogue

When you want to set up a netball club for gay men in 18th and 19th century London but accidentally choose the wrong photo.

[From the other place, link in reply] A reminder - if any were needed - that antisemitism is usually not a precisely-honed weapon targeted at the exact Jews one objects to. And another reminder that antisemitism should be of concern to all Jews, not just those who are most 'visibly' Jewish.

I haven't posted at the other place for nearly a week, but I have still getting a steady stream of definitely real high quality followers.

I'm trying to understand why progressive coalitions so often fail in contrast to Trump et al's ability to create coalitions based on cynicism, lies and fantasy. As I argue here, there's an 'honesty' to Trump's lies that we can learn from.
