Being a long canal it has a lot of variety, but also a couple of my favourite stretches. Preston Brook to Middlewich and Haywood to Rugeley. Some really nice villages and the experience of Harecastle Tunnel.

My first ever waterway was the S&W, so probably favourite. But if I had to pick one it would be the Trent and Mersey, especially if I could include the Caldon and the T&M section of the Coventry.

Now that Jackie's retired we'll give up the mooring by the end of February and go continuous cruising. Meanwhile today might be a day for enjoying the fire!
