Expat says what? “Taken over *your* country?”
You don’t don’t know what we know or don’t know. You don’t live here anymore, so you essentially have abdicated the right to be an asshole about it.
Since you’re not living what we are experiencing right now—every day—kindly STFU.

I guess he’s so sure that SCOTUS is his private court…I wonder why?
Women everywhere will revolt if they overturn this ruling.

Yes, I was thinking of NZ as well. I thought the rate was 2% in Australia—thank you for the correction. Having said that, a 2-3% levy in the U.S. would still be about 1/2 of what people pay now in the U.S. for “limited” coverage—+ rates will likely double or triple here in 2026. Shocking, I know!

I recently told a Japanese friend how it works here in the U.S. and she was aghast. Americans have been duped into thinking that what we do here is normal. It is neither normal nor humane that people can lose their homes due to a medical situation or healthcare coverage due to a job loss.

I was going to mention Australia—I lived there once—but there are other countries that do it as well. It’s such a good system. It amazes me that people here do not get how much less expensive such a system would be for everyone—only 2-3% of gross income/year, which is less than people pay now!

Idea: When we rewrite our Constitution—which we will do after Trump: Restore Congress to only represent the people—& set up a small, separate group that only fields requests from businesses and lobbyists. This group determines the feasibility of these requests & then works with Congress if they are.

We need to GET THE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS. People should be elected to serve the people they represent—which is why it is called “public service.”

Read the room!
We want a House Democrat in charge who is 1) not beholden to corporate donors and 2) will actually fight to save our democracy!
Mr. Jeffries has proven to be a deer in the headlights. He is not the leader we need.
And we should take Chuck Schumer out while we’re at it!

Then nothing will get done—even more than the “nothing” that is going on now.

Let me guess: This idea is for the lenders to earn more interest from borrowers.

I absolutely agree—and coverage should be 100%—none of this Medicare “gap insurance” garbage. If people want premiums like private hospital rooms or air transportation to a special care hospital they can buy that with a supplemental insurance plan.
This is done successfully in other countries.
