Part of Jack's backstory is that he ran away from home after his old horse was killed. Jack can talk to animals so that horse was his only friend but to everyone else, it was just an old horse.

Clay's gun. I don't draw much attention to it cuz it's just a classic cowboy pistol, but it's the subtext that's important. Clay is an ace shot. When you bring in the fact Clay is trans, that means his dad trained his "daughter" to be an ace shot at a time woman where suppose to be house wives.

Clay and Jack wonder into other people's adventures all the time. Alic and Zoey were mid merchild rescue. Nick and Ellis where doing your forbidden romance thing. Dahlia takes down a corrupt sheriff for they while they were busy. All the drama at the cryptid museum before Clay and Jack show up.

A snippet from my next WIP. This time I let my MC have a good dad who's still alive. His baby called him crying, so he had to come over and make her soup.

Jack has light brown hair that he ties back except for a bit that frame his face. The hair covering his brow is mostly there to hide a scar he doesn't want people to notice.

Clay has pitch black hair. Darker than what should be neutral. He had dark brown hair but the curse turned it black as a bit of a visual mark. It comes down to his shoulders and is very messy, covering half his face.

Jack is mostly fine with any touch. He's not gonna want to hug a stranger, but he'll be physically affectionate with friends. Jack also needs to touch people to heal them so touch was instilled as a good thing since he first learned to use his magic.

Clay both hates it and longs for it. He's afraid of letting people close but he's very touch starved. He lets himself slowly start touching Jack, mostly a hand on the shoulder or pat on the back. It's still hard with other people, but Jack becomes he safe person to hold.

I feel. I decided against trying to sell my art for many reasons, that being one of them. I'm just not good at drawing furries and me trying wouldn't be good for anyone. I'm happier drawing humans and some monsters.

I wanted the team to fight a black dog, the monster not a dog that's black. I think they're a cool way to foreshadow a deal with the devil cuz some stories about them have them showing up after that. It just didn't feel write. The thing I replaced it with flowed a lot better.

Splatterpunk. I don't do gore. Even in my own fight scenes, I don't go into details on any gore.

Clay is bringing something hardy like a stew and it's gonna be a damn good stew. Jack is bringing something basic like drinks cuz he can't match his boyfriends cooking so he's not gonna try.

To Kill a Mockingbird. I love my fantasy escapism and domestic fiction with legal drama is normally the opposite of what I'd enjoy but I'm so glad I read it. I had to read a classic for school and this was the one my parents recommended. Definitely the best classic I've read.

Clay is a werecoyote. Cryptids like him tend to hide what they are. The old west is a little more superstitious so they aren't as worried about hiding as they are nowadays. There are humans cryptids keep close. Most are magic in some way, but not all. Jack is human... for now...

The introduction of the werewolf pack that are keeping an eye on Clay. Clay can't control his lycanthropy, so they assume the worse when they see him turned. Some are trying to do what they think is best, others not so much.

Professor Shin is a literal ancient Chinese dragon. He might accidentally talk in riddles sometimes but he's got the most wisdom out of anyone. He also genuinely likes helping people so he'll give the best advice he can and will be honest if he doesn't know a good solution.

I have a character who's a coffee fanatic, but I know nothing about coffee. I at least know she likes experimenting with syrups. The season might effect the syrups she goes with, but she'd go with a small amount of several to get a nice mix without overwhelm the coffee flavor.
