This article is compelling. I remember reading the medical education has been taking strides to alleviate burnout, and this seems to do that. But the results seem less certain about learning.

It just remembers and regurgitates. The lowest tier on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning.

Spotify Unwrapped numbers are in. My total listening minutes are down, which is not surprising. The Toadies were a new addition to my top artists, but I’m not mad about it.

I’m a fan of the cold weather, but I would be lying if I didn’t concede how nice it is to walk around LA in the winter.

Fun! A phishing attempt on Bluesky. This place really has the juice.

Happy Circulatory System Walking Through the Kitchen Day for all those who celebrate. Maybe terrorize your workplace kitchen today like a brainless mass of walking veins and arteries trying to reshape itself into a man.

They were also selling these books by Jason and Lucy Knisley (@lucyknisley.bsky.social), two authors whose work I always buy. Kid Gloves (Knisley) is about child rearing, so sits on the opposite end of the spectrum from Shadow Life.

I was just talking to some students about death and dying in media, and then this book by Hiromi Goto and Ann Xu (@epershannd.bsky.social) was on sale at my local library.

This might be a deep rabbit hole...

As the reigning champion of the Lisle Library District’s MarioKart tournament, I obviously endorse this method.

The conventions concerning author order in academic research are complicated, but these Italians working LLM research have, I think, nailed the best way:

Happy Halloween!

For the kids: a variety of candies both chocolate and fruity; for the adults, charcuterie s’mores (smoked cream cheese, various spiced hams, and crackers).

I genuinely love coaching these girls, even though soccer isn’t my game. I love watching these girls gain confidence and helping them learn to deal with loss and frustration. Proud Papa.
