One interesting statistic from the article followed by two equally interesting statistics about U Nebraska:
A paragraph from the Daily Nebraskan article that reads: The university is expected to save $6.7 million by eliminating about 50 positions within the associated programs and $2 million from the department mergers. A screen shot of an ESPN article about Nebraska head football coach Matt Rhule’s contract extension that reads: “Rhule's salary throughout the course of the deal has an AAV of more than $11.7 million (including retention bonuses). That number puts him in the highest echelon of college coaches over the course of the deal. Rhule's two additional years are at $12.5 million, the same as the final year of his current deal in 2030. The deal remains 90% guaranteed. This season, Rhule is currently in the top 15 in salary at $8.5 million. Prior to the extension, the deal included significant escalators in the contract, as in 2027, he'll make $11 million (with retention bonus). The new deal comes at a time when Nebraska is trending toward the program's best season in nearly a decade, as Nebraska hasn't reached back-to-back bowls since 2016. This article is compelling. I remember reading the medical education has been taking strides to alleviate burnout, and this seems to do that. But the results seem less certain about learning.
An excerpt from the Bloodgood article that reads: Results: The pass/fail class exhibited a significant increase in well-being during each of the first three semesters of medical school relative to the graded class, greater satisfaction with the quality of their medical education during the first four semesters of medical school, and greater satisfaction with their personal lives during the first three semesters of medical school. The graded and pass/fail classes showed no significant differences in performance in first- and second-year courses, grades in clerkships, scores on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2CK, success in residency placement, and attendance at academic activities.

On Saturday, I was meant to provide the turkey for Friendsgiving, so I started an 18-hr brine on a 15-lb bird Friday night. Then my son spiked a fever, so we had to pull out. But there was no freezing a brined turkey, so I made it for my wife and I.

I'm no graphic designer, but I would think you'd want the serif on D to align with the tail on R to maintain the symmetry of the plaque.

If I wanted to prove to Joyce Carol Oates that I have, in fact, read some books, I definitely would make sure I linked to the right book. And maybe got the plot right.

They were also selling these books by Jason and Lucy Knisley (@lucyknisley.bsky.social), two authors whose work I always buy. Kid Gloves (Knisley) is about child rearing, so sits on the opposite end of the spectrum from Shadow Life.

I was just talking to some students about death and dying in media, and then this book by Hiromi Goto and Ann Xu (@epershannd.bsky.social) was on sale at my local library.

The conventions concerning author order in academic research are complicated, but these Italians working LLM research have, I think, nailed the best way:
